8. A Sisters Love

I laid down on my bed staring at the ceiling. Darkness dwelled around the room and inside of my chest. My hunger has started rising and I haven't been able to find Mathias since a couple days ago. Guilt and deep sadness consumed me whenever I thought of eating again, it was hard to just bring myself to think of eating a person, so in a way it would be nearly impossible to kill again.

Unless I was to go to the brink of death and lose my senses, because of the hunger clawing at my soul. Rolling to my side I saw the door slowly creak open. Fear gripped at me and I got ready to pounce of it was a stranger. "Alice?" It was my sisters voice. I sighed in relief as Ami peeked in.

"Yes?" I asked her. She paused for a second than walked in.

"How are you? You changed randomly, just bounced back in a couple hours. I see you in school and everything but I never see you eat, I never see you drink, are you being healthy?" She asked and sat down at the edge of my bed. I said up and looked at her with a smile. She could probably barely see me, but since I was a monster I could see her perfectly.

For my comfort and hers I gripped her hand. "You are so warm. I'm jealous." I whispered. Yes, I was very jealous of her and her humanity. "I am scared to eat, sis. I don't want to in case something bad happens." I said, giving her small information of my situation.

Confusion crossed her eyes and she tilted her head to the left. "You mean, like scared you'll throw up or something?" She asked. Throwing up didn't seem too far off, so I nodded.

"Something like that." I responded. Silence followed for a bit until I looked in her eyes again. She looked sad and I noticed a small tear in her eye. She probably didn't think I would see it since with human eyes, it would be too dark to fully see. That hurt me and I realized just how much my sister would be hurting in my pain. I became very distant and moody, I left her alone and put myself in my room in case I lost my head, and this silence was killing her.

She reached out and grabbed my hand. "I don't know what happened to you a when you were... When you were attacked. I don't even think I can help you with what you went through." She started to say and took a deep breath. "But what ever happened, you can tell me. I am your sister, your family. I will always be by your side no matter what." She said.

I looked at her with a sad smile. "Thank you sis. But what happened, I don't think you want to hear it." I told her. She wouldn't want to hear the truth, hear what I am and who I have to kill. "I am happy now, I am happy that you are so worried about me. Because it shows how much you love me. And I love you sis." I said and took my hand away. The warmth, the human touch, it was making me a little more hungry. "I met a new guy. His name is Jaccob. He goes to our school and he is pretty hot. On top of that he had a great personality, and he even said he would help me get caught up in Biology. We are meeting on Saturday." I told her. I couldn't keep him a secret.

Ami smiled. "That's great! Although I never seen him before. You must let me meet him." She said. "And if he lays a single finger on you without your permission, I swear he will regret it." Ami took her sisterly role. I laughed, a real laugh. Ami followed and it felt like the old times, just us two laugh and being human together. The laughter died down and I stared at Ami.

"Thank you for talking with me Ami. I really needed this. Everything has changed so much for me, and needed something to make me smile again." I told her.

"Well I am your sister." She said and yawned. "Well I think that I am going to bed now." She got up and stopped at the door. Her head tilted down a little bit and I noticed a frown on her face. "Hey Alice? Promise me you will do everything you can to be healthy. To live. I am here to help no matter what, and I will be with you, holding you up when you feel like falling." She said silently, just enough for me to here. Then she left without another word.

Sadness took place. "I don't know if I can do that sis. I don't know if I can take that promise."
