Secret's I'll Never Tell

"I know what your doing." Draco said, smirking at me.

"And what is that?" I answered, holding back a smirk.

"Admit it Nora. You want me." Draco said.

"Too bad that you might be right."

28. Chapter 26-Of Course

"Hi Sadie!" I said the next morning, plopping down next to her at the Hufflepuff table.

"Hi!" She said happily. "Are you allowed to sit here?" She asked, kind of worried. I smiled and nodded.

  "Theres nothing against it."

"Oh. Ok. Cool." She said. She looked at me, and I knew what she was going to ask.

"What was last night about?" She asked. I though of a lie, and it slipped off my tongue perfectly.

"Nothing. I was just got going down to the dungeon to prank some Slytherins." She nodded her head understandingly.

"I hate those bloody Slytherins." She commented after a moment of silence.

"There not all bad, but a lot of them all." I defended, thinking of Draco.

"How did I not know you were here?" I asked, completely confused. She shrugged and rolled her eyes.

"Well, I just got here a week ago. Mrs.Peterson has been extra strict since your 'disappearance'." Sadie said. "So it was hard to get me out of there."

Sadie has been with me for years at the orphanage, but I had no idea she's a witch.

"Oh. That sucks. Is she still..."

"Yea..." She said, indicating that Mrs.Peterson is still drinking and being abusive. I took in a sharp inhale of breath and nodded, getting a bad feeling inside. I felt a weird singe of pain on my neck where my birthmark was located, and I winced. Sadie looked at me confused. Before she could ask, I spoke.
"I got to go. I'll see you later, yea." I said a bit like a question, before getting up and heading to the common room to grab my bag for first period. I rubbed my neck and swung my bag over my shoulder.

That's weird, I thought as I stepped into class, and got ready for a long, and boring day.

It's been a week, and Draco and I haven't spoken. Well, he's tried, but I've ignored him. And in those couple days, my neck has been killing me. My birthmark is continuously throbbing and I've considered talking to Madam Pomfrey, but I haven't had time.

I sighed as I pulled out my half completed potions essay. I read where I had left off and continued, once in awhile dipping my quill in my brand new ink jar.

"I knew you would be up here." I heard a voice say from behind me. My quill stopped moving and my heart rate went up. I spun around quickly and saw Draco standing there, his face full of mixed emotions as he stared down at my sitting figure. I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out.

"What do you want, Malfoy?" I asked, turning back to my homework.

"Back to last names, are we?" He said as he strolled over to me, he shoes clicking against the floor, before sitting down. I didn't answer as I continued writing. Out of no where, Draco spoke.

"Wrong." I looked at him exasperated.

  "Excuse me?" I asked bitterly.

"What you wrote was wrong. If you mix those ingredients together, the potion will turn green not pink." I looked back at my parchment and scoffed. Of course he was right. I folded up my parchment and set it neatly inside my book bag.

I looked over my shoulder at the blonde boy.

"What did you really come here for?"  I asked. He sighed and played with his fingers nervously.

"I..I um...," he said, scratching his neck.

  "Spit it out."

"I'm sorry. What I did was really rude and I shouldn't treat you like that. You worth way more. I'm sorry, I truly am. I just blanked out and I didn't know what to say and I didn't know Sadie was you friend and-"

I cut him off with a quick kiss.

"What was that for?" He asked. I laughed.

"You talk too much." I replied. He gave me his signature smirk, and tucked a piece of
( hair behind my ear.

"Well maybe I should start blabbing more often."

We adjusted our sitting so we were looking towards the ice covered black lake. I rested my head on his shoulder after he intertwined our fingers. We stayed like that for awhile, just sitting, in a comfortable silence, watching the nature in front of us. Draco rolled up his sleeve and checked his golden watch for the time.

"I'm afraid I must go. It's getting late. You should go to." I nodded and stood up. I started walking towards the stairs to leave the Astronomy Tower when his voice stopped me.

  "Yeah?" I said, spinning around.

"Would you maybe accompany me to the Yule Ball?" He asked nervously. I smiled and blushed.

"Of course." I walked up to him and pecked his cheek before running off into the dark hallways of Hogwarts.
