Secret's I'll Never Tell

"I know what your doing." Draco said, smirking at me.

"And what is that?" I answered, holding back a smirk.

"Admit it Nora. You want me." Draco said.

"Too bad that you might be right."

22. Chapter 20-I Won't Let You

"Students," Dumbledore started, shushing all of us. We sat in the Great Hall, waiting for dinner, which hadn't appeared yet. My eyes kept flickering from my friends at the Hufflepuff table, because I decided to sit here today instead of at the Gryffindor table, who were listening intently to Dumbledore, and to Draco, who was doing the same as my friends.

"Now that we're all settled in, I'd like to make an announcement. This castle will not only be your home this year but home to some very special guests as well. You see Hogwarts has been choosen..."

 A man runs up the aisle limping in a comical way, he whispers something to Dumbledore and leaves in the same fashion.

     "So Hogwarts has been choosen to host a legendary event. The Tri-Wizard tournament. Now for those of you who don't know, the tri-wizard tournament brings together three schools for a series contests. From each school a single contestant is selected to compete. Now let me be clear, if choosen you stand alone. And trust me when I say this, these contests are not for the faint hearted, but more of that later. For now please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of magic and their headmistress Madam Maxime." Dumbledore explained. I looked over at Cedric, who looked excited. But that made my stomach churn. I do not want him entering and getting hurt.

  He noticed my worried expression, and sent me an encouraging smile. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it a bit.

  "I might not even get picked." Cedric said, trying to cheer me up. It did, but barely. I turned and looked where a group of girls dressed in blue dance up the aisle and release butterflies into the air. They bow and everyone applauds. The boys stare at the girls, drool dripping from there mouths, whereas most girls stare at them, enviously. I knew they were like me, some full veela, some only an eighth, but all beautiful.

  My mom went to Beauxbatons. A long time ago, but it made me sad to even think about it. But I kept myself together because of where we were and the time it was.

 "And now our friends from the north, please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang and the high master, Igor Karkaroff." A series of older boys walk up the aisle brandishing bo staffs, twirling them around and periodically stabbing them into the ground with a spark effect. I recognized one of them as Viktir Krum, on the Bulgarian Quidditch team.

  "Your attention please! I would like to say a few words. Eternal glory, that is what awaits the student who wins the tri-wizard tournament. But to do this that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks." Dumbledore said, making me very nervous for Cedric. He is one of the only people I have, and he can't leave me. Not yet. Not ever.

  All of a sudden, a lighting bolt blasted from the ceiling. Many girls, and some guys, around us screamed. I noticed movement from the tables up where the teachers sat. A spell shot up at the ceiling, instantly calming everyone down. A man came out, soaking wet, wearing an eyepatch, but this eyepatch had an eye on it, helping him see.

  "Whose that?" I asked Cedric. He just shrugged his shoulders and turned up front.

  Dumbledore said somethings to that man, before addressing us again.

  "Silence!" He yelled over everyone, gaining our attention.

  "The goblet of fire. Anyone wishing to submit themselves for the tournament merely write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it in before this hour on Thursday night. Do not do so lightly, if choosen there's no turning back. As from this moment the tri-wizard tournament has begun."

~~~
"Cedric Diggory, I am not letting you enter." I said putting an arm out to stop him, not letting him walk any closer to his common room so he could try to avoid me.
  "It's not your decision!" He said angrily, dragging me over into an empty classroom so people wouldn't stare. He closed the door behind us, making sure to lock the door. Cedric looked at me and sighed before he sat down. He ran a hand through his messy, fluffy hair. "Why do you even care that much?" He said, kind of annoyed. I sat down next to him and fiddled with my fingers.
  "You know I'm not that good with this emotional stuff but...here it goes." I started
"I have no parents. No family. All I have are my friends. I have you, Mione, Scar, Fred, and Seamus. That's it." I said with tears started to well up in my eyes. He looked at me sympathetically, but I looked away, breaking eye contact.
"Your like family. Your all I have. And I can't- I cant-" I tried to finish but a sob escaped from my lips. I buried my head in my hands as I started crying. Cedric pulled me into a hug, running circles on my back. He muttered calming words, trying to stop me from crying. We sat that way for minutes, until I realized how weak I must've looked and pulled away from his grasp.
  I looked down at my hands.
  "I can't loose you." I said.
   It was silent.
  Cedric put two fingers under my jaw and made me look up at him, his thumb on my cheek. His eyes swam with so many emotions I couldn't tell them apart.
  "You'll never lose me."
  "Promise?" I asked, leaning in closer as he was as well.
  "I promised."
  And he kissed me.
