10. Revenge has Never Tasted Sweeter

Charlie's POV:

I heard a loud ding-dong echo from downstairs as I perfected the finishing touches of my make up.

Grabbing my phone and heels, I skipped down the stairs as I was greeted by Zayn and his warm smile.

"Wow-" He started as his eyes looked me up and down.

"Charlie, you look.... insanely hot." He concluded.

"Oh. We should probably get going," I responded, a little disappointed by his ungentlemanly compliment, "Wouldn't want you to miss your own party."

After an uneventful car ride, Zayn pulled into a large circle driving in front of his parent's impressive estate, already filled with deafening music and the fumes of alcohol.

"Fashionably late." He joked, leading me through the opened double doors.

Taking in everything around me, I felt Zayn closely whisper, "let me make a quick appearance around the party, and then I can show you the rest of the house."

Walking around the party, I decided to blend in by grabbing a drink.

"I didn't know you drink." Luke approached, smiling.

"It's sprite." I admitted, embarrassed.

After a long pause, Luke added, while rubbing the back of his neck,

"You look stunning Charlie."

"Thanks.. Would you, maybe, want to da-" I was cut off by Amber stepping in between Luke and I, attacking his face with her lips. Luke pulled away from Amber as he spun her around to face me, clearly embarrassed.

"Amber you remember Charlie, right?" He asked, trying to relieve the tension of the situation.

"What is that doing here?" She scoffed.

Alcohol was spilled all the way down her shirt, and her red lipstick was smeared across her and Luke's cheeks.

With that, I quickly turned and headed in the opposite direction, toward the front door.

I didn't know Amber was going to be here, I thought to myself.

Before I could make it to the front door, I felt someone wrap their arms around my torso and whisper,

"I told you I'd be back."

"Yes you did," I giggled sarcastically. "But I should get going."

Surprised, Zayn pleaded, "You just got here, Charlie. Come on, just one dance."

"Oh, alright. Just one." I agreed with hesitation.

Luke's POV:

It was so painful watching Charlie with Zayn, my stomach felt as if it were tangled in a million tiny knots.

God, she looks beautiful, I couldn't take my eyes off of her.

Amber's POV:

As much as I threw myself at Luke, he refused to take his eyes off Charlie.

What does he see in her anyway?

Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. I stopped dancing and struck Luke across the cheek.

Taken by surprise, Luke stumbled back.

"Amber what the fuck is wrong with you?!" He shouted, regaining his awareness as he rubbed his cheek.

At least that got him to snap out if it.

"Me? What's wrong with me? You're the one who can't stop drooling over some worthless, homewrecker." I exploded, pointing to Charlie.

"This "home" was wrecked long before Charlie came along." He retaliate.

Shocked, I sneered, "well I suggest you start paying attention to me, I'm a hell of a lot more to look at."

By now, everyone around us froze as they soaked up the drama of watching Luke and I.

"I'm out of here." He mumbled as he pushed passed me, continuing to rub his cheek.

I could feel everyone's eyes, including Charlie's, judging me, as Luke had the audacity to walk away from me. There was no way I was going to be humiliated by allowing Luke to act this way. I can't let Charlie win him.

Frantically, my eyes looked between Charlie and the spiked, red punch bowl she was standing near.

Just as Luke was about to close the front door behind him, Charlie let out a deafening scream as I dumped the blood red punch over her head.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Luke snap his head in Charlie's direction. Serves them both right.

"Oops." I smirked as I dropped the bunch bowl at my feet, and walked out the front door.

No one humiliates me, and gets away with it.
