Chapter 4

-Eleanor's POV-

"Are you fucking stupid?!" Benjamin yells, earning me to flinch by his tone of voice.

"You and I both know you hate him!" Benjamin adds, earning me to sigh, he's extremely right; I hate Felix.

"What else was I supposed to do? Watch my brother be dragged by his stallion?" I scream back, pinching the bridge of my nose. Benjamin walks over to me and grabs me into a hug, it takes me by surprise at first but I hug back after a while.

"I love you El. And I just want you to be safe." Benjamin mumbles into my hair.

"I love you too, Benji." I mutter into his chest. I pull away when I hear footsteps on the gravel outside. I watch as people look out their windows and the kids in the street stop playing. I stalk out the cottage and stare at the man in front of us, he wore basically black and green everything, which kinda scared me a little. His hands were by his side and his facial expression stone hard; his piercing blue eyes tore into everyone like arrows.

"May I help you?" Felix speaks up, earning everyone's attention on him, including the mysterious man standing in front of the village gates.

"Yes, do you know a young female by the name of Hnoss?" The mysterious guy asks, Felix. My eyebrows knit together in confusion. She's a God, what would she be doing here on Earth?

"I know who you are." I blurt out, earning everyone's eyes to fall onto me, including the mysterious guy's.

"And who do you think I am, Human?" He asks, cocking an eyebrow.

"Eleanor..." Benjamin whispers, grabbing my forearm. He starts pulling me away but before he does I shrug him off.

"You're a God!" I yelp, as Benjamin forcefully grabs my arms and starts pulling me back towards the house.

"You're Thor's brother." I watch as a satisfied smirk forms on his lips, and he begins to walk forward. I pull against Benjamin's grasp and finally break free.

"You're Loki." I yell, earning people to gasp and start rumours.

"Well done human." Is all Loki says, he starts walking closer in my direction, making my breathing become hitched in my throat and my heart start thumping uncontrollably fast. That's when I'm pushed behind a dark haired man baring a sword at the smirking God in front of me.

"Get away from her." Felix spits, I watch as a flash of jealousy crosses Loki's eyes before another smirk rises on his lips.

"Stop!" They both turn to see who had spoken, scanning the crowd the Mayor pushes through to the front.

"If what she says is true, you could help us." He adds, pointing over to me.

"We have a brawl between another village; sometime before the new moon. With your strength we can protect this village, you're our only hope." Mayor finishes.

"And if I shall agree, I want your best men to help me find Hnoss." Loki adds, earning more hushed whispers to spread around the village.

"Deal. Eleanor, you know more about, Them. You teach him our ways, okay." Mayor says, giving me a glare of hatred.

I watch as Felix stomps over to his father and starts arguing with him.

"Follow me." I mutter, beginning to walk away.

"I don't follow, I'm a leader." Loki protests, I turn around and look at him with an annoyed expression.

"Then lead the way." I respond dryly, lifting my arm in the right direction. I watch as he gives me a questioning look and leads the way to the weapon station, making me surprised that he knew where they were. We walk in and start looking around. I find a bow and a few arrows.

"Do you know how to shoot?" I ask, turning my attention to Loki, whose eyes were captivated on me, I give him a puzzled look and shove the weapons in his chest.

"Are you listening?" I ask, rather rudely, making Loki give me a glare of annoyance.

"Of course I'm listening." He says, snatching the bow and arrows from my grasp.

"And I might know how to do this, I've watched Eros a few times." Loki mumbles the last part before walking out of the store. I quickly grab another bow and more arrows before following him out. The village hadn't moved from their previous positions, only making the situation awkward; most give me looks of worry, but a percentage of the females were giving me glares of hatred - what's new? I walk in the opposite direction to the river, when I don't hear footsteps behind me I turn around and glare at Loki.

"Are you coming?" I ask, earning him to look over to me and follow on.

-At the river-

We make it to the river and start practicing. For a God, he sucks.

"Aim for the middle of the tree." I say, pointing to the oak tree. Loki has another shot, but the arrow ends up falling to the ground a meter away from the tree. I let a small giggle escape my lips as I look over to the tree than back at Loki, who was giving me glare.

"Here." I say, handing him another arrow. Loki lines the arrow up, and pulls the string when he gets it right. I walk over to him and push his right elbow up a bit, I step closer to him feeling his body heat radiate onto me, and lift his left arm up just a touch so it was high than the Middle of the tree. I do this with out realising Loki was staring at me with lust filled eyes. When I'm done adjusting him and settling the arrow correctly, I step back and look into his eyes. I step back abruptly and give out a nervous chuckle, I nod my head in the direction on the oak tree.

"Have a shot." I mutter, turning around and picking up the remaining arrows; I stand up quickly when I hear the thud of a object hitting something, I turn around and see Loki smirking at me. I turn my attention to the oak tree; it held the arrow in its frame perfectly.

"Well done." I mutter.

"Eleanor!" I hear someone scream my name, I turn around and glance up the hill to see Abraham looking sick and petrified.

"Come quickly!" He yells, racing back to the village.

                           πŸ”±

"Mum!" I scream, as Felix holds me back. Tears stream down my face as the realisation sinks in: she's gone - she's dead.

Her limp body was swinging slowly in the wind as her neck was twisted in a un-natural way. I collapse onto my knees as the tears pour down my cheeks, Felix kneels down as well; me still wrapped in his warm embrace.

"Is she actually gone?" I ask, in between sobs. Felix doesn't say anything just hugs me.

"In Gods name we will remember her."
