3. Three

One week later

Angel had herself and Mia ready for the day by eight o'clock. Nursery school starts at nine and work starts at nine thirty. Mia sat on the sofa watching an episode of Charlie and Lola.

"Achoo," Angel sneezed into a tissue. She had caught a cold and had been sneezing non-stop for two days already. The day before she gone to see the doctor and they had prescribed her some medicine to take.

"Bless you," Mia said.

"Thank you."

Few minutes later Angel was had a sneezing fit. Mia wanted to give her mum a hug but Angel stopped her. "Don't step too close to me. I don't want you catching a cold too."

Twenty minutes later Angel and Mia already stood by the door ready to leave home. "We have plenty of time. We'll go to the café down the road and get cinnamon buns and then we'll go to Boots to collect my medicine and then I'll drop you off at nursery, ok."

"Ok mummy." Mia put on her Barbie backpack on with that the two of them left the apartment.

Angel held onto Mia's hand as they entered the cafe. The sweet smell of different kinds of cakes, pies, pastries and hot beverages filled the air. They walked towards the cash register and ordered.

"Hey Adam," she greeted one of the employees there. He was the one who serves her most often she came here. "Hey Angel, how's it going?" He smiled. Adam was working here part time while attending University. He's about 6'3 tall, tanned, black hair and blue eyes. Angel has a small crush on him but she doesn't think they could be anything more than friends.

"Busy week but everything's fine. How about you?" Angel returned a smile.

"Yeah it's pretty busy for me too with lectures while working part time. Anyway what can I get you today? Let me guess... two cinnamon buns." He said proudly.

"You know me too well." Angel chuckled.

She paid for the food and waited. Adam went to get the two cinnamon buns on the display area and put them in little food bags.

"Here you go. Enjoy the rest of your day," he handed her the food. "You too. Bye." Angel smiled. She gave one cinnamon bun to Mia. They turned round and walked out of the cafe.

The next place they walked to was 'Boots' the pharmacy shop. Angel had to collect a prescription for her cold. After she had collected her prescription they made their way out of the shop. Mia walked outside first as she was eager to go to nursery. Angel followed behind. As they were walking her phone rang. It was her mum who called.

"Hey mum," Angel answered the phone call while walking.

Now she had three things doing at ones, talking on the phone, trying to put her prescription and the receipt in her bag, while walking at the same time. Her mind was so divided; she wasn't concentrating on where she was walking.

"No mum. Vanessa hasn't call-" she had suddenly bumped into someone, dropping all her things on the floor. Her phone had cracked as it hit the ground. Angel cursed under her breath as she saw the state of her phone on the ground. It was the iPhone 4 she had for nearly five years. She bent down to collect all the things that had dropped from her bag. Not even ones did she look up to see who she had bumped into. Mia however did not pay attention to what just happened. Instead she was busy admiring dressed up mannequins standing in a shop window display.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. Let me help you" Angel heard a young man's voice said. It sounded so familiar to her but she brushed the thought aside.

"Um, no its fin-" she looked up and was face to face with the man she never thought she'd meet again.
