Tim or Johnny could not enjoy the movie and they made their way down stairs and stood watching the last five minutes of the movie by the door.

Soon as the credits came on Tim and Johnny waited outside. There was a flood of people coming out Johnny hid himself in the doorway until he spotted Hedgeman coming out. He was laughing with his friends about what they had done he exited the door and a fist shot out and hit him in the face he spun around with the force of the blow then another punch hit him in the stomach and he went down winded Johnny grabbed hold of the other two lads and smacked them both in the mouth.

Tim grabbed hold of Hedgeman on the ground and hit him right in the eye.

“Now you know what it feels like he said as Johnny and Tim walked away.’

“Where did you learn to fight like that said Johnny?’

“My dad showed me.’

“Remind me never to pick a fight with you he said as Johnny walked his friend to the bus stop.’

“See you at school on Monday.’

“We are off school for the holidays silly.’

“Oh yes, I forgot.’” What are we going to do for six weeks?

“There are lots to do Johnny; we can go fishing in my dad’s boat, or go to the boating lake. Take a picnic to the beach.

“I cannot swim because I cannot get water in my ears.’

“We don’t have to go in the water; well not all the way in; we can plodge.

“I will give you a ring on Monday alright.’

“Alright; you had better take a different route home in case Hedgeman and his gang are looking for you.’

“I’ve got to go to my grans now with the beginnings of a black eye.

“Yes but Hedgman’s will be worse.’

The bus came and Johnny waited until Tim got on board before walking away.’

The bus left the square and Tim was dreading having to explain to his grand parents and his mother how he’d picked up the bruises.

The bus seemed as though it was going faster than normal; he just wanted to go home but he’d promised.

When he got off at his stop he walked slowly up to the house then opened the gate and walked up the pathway. He stood at the door for what seemed like an eternity before ring the bell.

“His gran took one look at him and gasped; what’s happened Tim; come in and tell us all about it. Your mother is going to be furious when she see’s what’s happened.’
