Superquack 2

Superquack and Morgan are back for another great adventure! Just as things are quieting down from the attack in Quackville, a new threat emerges to declare war on the world. After a fight, the dynamic duo draws him out, only to learn that the true threat lies within. Now they must team up with Macroburst and his wife, Sarah, to get to the bottom of it. But the Wicked Tutu is not alone: he has an army that does his evil bidding. In fact, all four of them have fallen into a trap. And on top of it all, there could be a traitor in their midst. But who?

18. Healing Powers

After their clash with Jamboga, Sarah and Macroburst rushed back to the control bunker.

They arrived to see the corpses of all the Supers. "They're all dead!" Sarah remarked. She immediately ran over to Morgan and prodded her head with her foot in an attempt to wake her. When Morgan's corpse didn't move, Sarah fired healing rays at her. When she released the beam, however, Morgan's body was still.

Sarah tried again. Morgan didn't move.

Sarah fired more rays. And more. Lightning rebounded all over the room and poured out into the hallway, melting a doorway there. But Sarah didn't stop. She pressed the lightning further, grunting with effort, as she was already weary from her battles with Jamboga and Morgan. Macroburst stood by impatiently. Morgan's body began to glow from the energy as Sarah's determination changed to exasperation, and then fury.

Suddenly, one of the bolts rebounded into Macroburst's shoulder, shocking him. Rubbing his shoulder, he turned to Sarah. "I know what's happening!"

Sarah continued to fire lightning, and then her hands began to spark, and no more lightning came.

Finally, Macroburst spoke up. "Sarah, healing is never used by enemies. Your allegiance to Jamboga..." He paused for empathis--"has taken it out of you."

Sarah stopped for a moment to take a breath. She had run out of energy, and realizing Macroburst was right and Morgan was gone, she gasped in horror. "No!" She bent down and tearfully cradled Morgan's head, sobbing upon the loss of her friend and hero. "No! No...nobody survived...this is all my fault!"

Macroburst, also having to see this sad sight, began to cry as well. The water of their tears began to glow and gather around Morgan’s corpse. More and more tears gathered in Morgan’s dead body and began to glow. Meanwhile, a pillar of heavenly light descended on the C.C.A. base, bathing Morgan and the control room with light.

Soon, Sarah stopped crying, and kept her gaze on Morgan. Next to her, Macroburst wiped a tear. Morgan began to twitch, catching Sarah's eye. She then opened her eyes and looked around--she was miraculously revived.

The first thing Morgan saw was Sarah. "Sarah?" she mused, speaking for the first time since she had begged Jamboga for a cessation in their fight. Her consciousness began to return, and she grinned. "Sarah! It is you!"

"Morgan!" Sarah exclaimed. "You're alive!" She helped her up, then embraced her in a hug. However, the truth dawned on Sarah, and she broke away. I must help the others!

With that, she walked over to Strattogale and once again attempted to fire healing rays. This time, they worked. She then used the rays on Anakin Organa, then Merpa, then Lode, then Jay Organa, then Blasto, then his frog. Pretty soon, everyone was restored from the dead. Sarah took a look around, knowing what she had to do next.

"There is one more--" Morgan began.

"I know," Sarah finished gently. She went downstairs to the courts, where she found Superquack writhing in agony, barely alive. She extended her thin fingers toward his face, then fired. As Morgan looked on, Sarah released the beam. The rays began to circle around Superquack, putting his feathers back into place. He immediately stood up, his near-fatal injuries healed.

The first person he saw was Morgan. As they embraced, Superquack did not even notice Sarah for a moment.

"Aww..." Sarah mused.

Superquack turned, and a shiver ran down his spine. He did not know about Sarah's conversion, only remembering her as the deceptive monster who had nearly killed him. "Sarah? I thought--"

"She's changed," Morgan interrupted. "Now she's truly good."

Superquack broke away from the hug. "Are you sure?" he asked, keeping his gaze on her.

"Absolutely," said Morgan. Superquack, thinking it over, realized Morgan was right! All three of them hugged at once.

"Hey, guys!"

Sarah turned. All the other Supers were watching them. Sarah immediately fell into Macroburst's arms.

Meanwhile, Robo walked inside. He had been fixed by a kindly cuckoo clock who had denounced the old ways. Morgan hugged him briefly before running back into Superquack's arms, not wanting to let him go. As Jay and Anakin embraced, Macroburst congratulated Robo for his efforts.
