Krystal joined the remaining members at the island in the kitchen, her heart aching that the others were missing. Justin was having a discussion with them about recruiting new members and wondering if they'd heard of any new potential members that could be brought in. No one had any idea of any potentials and it seemed that they were stuck. Justin had just ordered Ryan, Ty and Deion to head into the streets to scope for new members and they immediately jumped at the chance to get out of the house. It had been 4 days and they'd spent a majority of that time cleaning up the mess left behind and dealing with the situation of the bodies.
“Jay,” Krystal got his attention after a long silence, “I need to use a car or I need you to take me somewhere or something,” She frowned.
He studied her eyes for a moment, realizing she was serious, “Okay,” He nodded, “We can go anywhere you gotta go, Sweetheart.”
“It's kind of a drive,” She bit her lip, “Like, more than kind of.”
“How long of a drive?” He gave her a skeptical look.
“7 hours. One way,” She cocked an eyebrow at him, “Please? Take me or come with me or let me go? I know you don't really trust anyone, but trust me when I tell you this is gonna be beneficial for the whole gang. I just need you to trust me. And get me there.”
He thought for a moment, studying her and finally let out a sigh, “Don't make me regret this. We'll leave in an hour.”
“Aren't you gonna ask me where we're going?” She searched his eyes to see if he was annoyed with her.
“I trust you, Baby,” He tilted his head to the side, “If we need to go to wherever 7 hours away is, I'm sure you have a good reason.”
“I do,” She smiled, happy that he was putting a little trust in her, “And this really is gonna benefit every single one of us. I promise.”
He returned her smile for a moment and then his face turned into a frown, “I need to ask you something, sweetheart,” He motioned her towards him and wrapped his arms around her as he looked down into her eyes, “I need to know you're okay with me getting revenge for Carey and Alex. I know that they were your family at one point, but I can't let their deaths go un-avenged.”
“Can you just trust me and put that on hold for a little while?” She looked up into his eyes, wrapping her arms around his neck, “I promise, it'll all make sense, but if you just trust me and put it on hold, I promise we will avenge their deaths and give them exactly what they deserve.”
He watched her for a moment and a slow smile made his way across his lips, “What are you planning?”
“Do you have enough trust in me to let me do a little of the thinking?” She wiggled her eyebrows at him.
“You know I do,” He leaned his forehead against hers, their eyes staring deeply into each other's at the close proximity, “Just promise me you'll eventually let me in on the plan.”
“Of course,” She nodded, not removing her forehead from his, “You're the main reason for this plan. I want you safe and I want you happy and I want you madly in love with me.”
“Well,” He chuckled, “2 outta 3 ain't bad.”
“Not good enough for me,” She pulled away to look deeper into his eyes and brush a strand of hair out of his face, “From here on out anyone that thinks they can fuck with my Baby, will be fucking with both of us. And once my plan gets put into action, there's no one in the world who will be able to beat us. I promise.”
“You're making a lot of promises today, Baby Girl,” He smirked, fighting the urge to kiss her lips.
“I don't make promises I can't keep,” She nearly whispered.
“Then make me another one,” He leaned closer, nudging her nose with his, his lips just grazing hers.
“Hmmm,” She pretended to think for a moment, looking away and then meeting his gaze again, holding it intently as she spoke, “I promise to make all your wildest dreams come true, Baby.”
They'd spent the entire afternoon driving and were just now pulling up at their destination as the sun set. Krystal sighed nervously, her hand resting on the handle of the door as she got the courage to get out.
She turned to him, “Wait here, okay?” He nodded, reaching towards the glove box and pulling out a gun.
“Here,” He attempted to hand it to her.
She offered a warm smile, “This is the last place in the world that I'd need that, my love, but thank you.” He frowned, wondering where exactly they were and what exactly she was going to do here. She leaned over and gave him a quick kiss on the lips before opening the door and getting out, slamming it shut behind her. He watched as he made her way up to the porch of a house and knocked on the door. It was a only a moment before someone answered and she made her way inside.
“So, it must be big if you came all the way here to get me,” Aaron, her long-time best friend spoke. She'd known him since they were kids and they were both brought up the exact same way in the gang world. Together, they'd nearly been unstoppable, but they had agreed to go their separate ways when Aaron had voiced that he wanted out.
“Ya know,” She ran her hand across the ledge of his fireplace, “I've kept up with you. You probably figured I would though,” She met his gaze, “I need your help.”
He let out a sigh, “I knew it'd pull me back in eventually. What's going on?”
“You're probably gonna laugh, but I flipped. This kid, having absolutely no idea what he was getting himself into, kidnapped me to the best of his abilities.”
He interrupted her, “Why'd you want out? He wouldn't have been able to take you if you didn't want him to.”
“Dee? The guy I was with for the last 7 years? He's been cheating on me for the better part of the last 2 years and you'll understand why I immediately thought of you when I tell you with who,” She didn't need to finish as he cut her off again.
“That Bitch Amanda,” He shook his head, “I want her dead.”
“I figured you still would,” She nodded, “And we can make it happen. 4 days ago, Jerome and the crew, including the man who I'd claimed for 7 years, stormed my new residence and killed 2 of our men. I want justice and I want you to help me teach them. I want to build the strongest army anyone has ever come across and I need your help to do it. I wanna bring back the old way.”
