Geez, Clementine was very smart. Super smart. Super-mega smart. What she said was so true; just because he was mean to me doesn't mean I have to be mean to him. The fact that I'm still in love with him adds to it all.
After I close the door I bump into Ian, and he looks angry.
"Tris, what did you do?" He growls.
"I hurt somebody who hurt me." I explain calmly. "Why?"
"Who is this somebody?"
"It's none of your business. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to go outside." I squeeze past him and, thankfully, doesn't stop me. I can feel his stare burning holes through my shirt.
Once I am down the hallway for our apartment I run towards the infirmary. I pass by people who give me looks, but I don't mind. Even if it is rude, it's their problem. We live in Dauntless for God's sake!
Soon I enter the infirmary and I see Zeke talking to Tobias. I sneak around the corner, easing around it to eavesdrop on their conversation.
"Four, she isn't good for you." Zeke pleads. He pleads.
"Zeke, it isn't your choice." Insists Tobias. "I messed up. I screwed up, hugely. She had the right to punch me, after cheating on her," I intake my breath. I've never heard him admit it. "and after saying she shouldn't marry Ian..."
"Hey, guys!" I slip past the wall, and Zeke jumps off the bed. He glares at me, very slightly, and leaves the room. Why does he hate me so much?
