We lay on the office floor naked, and Nora was laying on my chest. “That was amazing,” she stated running her fingers down my abdomen. It had been a long time since we did that, it had been a month. I looked down at her flushed face, “We should get dressed we do have two children to fend for.” She laughed as we got to our feet, and I stole a quick kiss. “What would you like for you dinner,” She looked at me still wearing that smile, “oh, so you’re gonna cook tonight?” I pulled my pants up on my hips fastening them and the belt. “I can’t cook in this house,” she laughed loudly as she fastened her bra.
She pulled on her shirt, and I was yet to notice when she had put on her on her other things. I pulled my shirt on and the door swung open, and in ran Castor and Pollux. They ran to us nearly knocking both of us down, and I smiled down at Pollux who was on me. Nora’s smile always brightened my day, and I bet it brightened theres also. “Who want’s to go help me in the kitchen?” “I do! I do,” they yelled at the same time! “Come on then, We’ll be in the kitchen Iron.” I nodded watching them as they disappeared down the hall. “Doom, are you there?” There was no answer so I repeated it again, “Are you there Doom?” I didn’t want to believe my father, not about this. Me and Doom had been through everything together. We’d been through thick and thin, and watching my mother die was one of them. Of course my father was there, and back then I didn’t know that he was a god.
I thought that he would soon follow after her, but he never did. My father was not a youthful looking man. He had gray hair, and wrinkles that covered his face. The one thing that he didn’t do was let me down. Everything asked for he gave without question, and my brother wasn’t around. When my father told us and our mothers family who he was they took him away. I remember them saying, Jose is yours, he acts just like you. I remember feeling all alone, but as my father introduced me to the other things in the world it faded. Thats when I first met Doom, a small voice that used to talk in my head. I walked over to the window staring at the big grassy planes, remembering the memories that I had seen out there. My vision started to blur, and soon everything went dark.
I was in a room, a room was pure white. I recognized it, it was my soul gland. I looked around to see no one, and then a voice came of of no where. “Iron, It’s good to see you doing well.” I turned around to see a man with gray hair, red eyes, and very pale skin. “Doom,” I muttered breathlessly. I had never seen him before, but here he was in the flesh in front of me. “I should have told you I was gonna have to go sooner, but I waited too long.” My heart was hurting, and that was something that was new to me. “Why? Why do you have to go?” He smiled showing pure white teeth, “My time has run out. I pushed limits just by staying another 100 years with you.” I could feel tears running down my face,”Iron don’t cry. I’m not dying, I’ll always be with you.” “You being a god and me being human, that was a lie.” He nodded, “You’re father told me to tell you that when you were younger, but I didn’t tell you anything to stop you from thinking that.” His white hair was long, and the ponytail that it was in did nothing to help it. “I’m sorry, but this is our final goodbye.” My eyes came open after that, and tears were streaming down my face as I starred at the fields. I lowered my head, “Goodbye.”
