“A vampire,”I said my voice echoing through the house. Nora walked up to me grabbing my hand, “I’m gonna take them to the park.” I nodded and she was on her way, “Iron I didn’t know you as a child guy.” My eyes went to Astro, “Who’s their father,” I slowly started to walk up stopping inches away from their face, “who do you think?” I hadn’t went to see my father in a year, and I’ve been silent in the supernatural world also. I backed away running my hands through my hair, “Why do I have to hunt down vampires for you?” “Not vampires, vampire. We wouldn’t want to kill our own kind if we didn’t have a reason.” I crossed my arms cocking an eye brow at them, “You call burning them alive just because they touched your misses a good reason.”
He nodded, “They shouldn’t touch her at all.” I hung my head low, “No, I’m sorry. I can’t do it.” The woman spoke her voice sweet and soulful, “Why not? Astro is asking one thing, and you’re being a coward.” Before I knew it my hand was around her neck, and she lifted off of the ground. “Coward, I’m far from a coward,” my voice was demonic. It darker than usual, and I remember why I stopped I knew why. “You think me saying no is being cowardly, No. It’s being smart.” I remember the pitchforks, and torches. The yelling, and the screaming, it was part of the reason I disappeared. I had no one, no one at all. Sure I had my servant, but everyone I ever loved either betrayed me or died.My mother, she was ultimate woman, her long dark locks. Green eyes, and a smile that could blind a blind man. I was pulled from my thoughts by the wheezing of the girl, I didn’t know her name and didn’t want to find out.
I let her fall to the floor turning around and walking to the staircase. “Do you not remember,” I turned around looking at him, “remember what?” I could see it, see the torches. Hear the screams of the people as I ripped them apart. I could feel the heat from the torches close to my skin, but that wasn’t the worst things that I’ve felt. “The mob! The torches, the pitch forks! It was because of you that that happened!” He held his hands up, “I agree with that I caused that, but you’re the one that got caught.” I walked up to him grabbing him around the neck pushing him up against the wall. My face was inches away from his, and as he hissed at me my anger grew. “You want your work, do it you goddamn self.” I let his body fall to the ground, “Now get the hell off my property!”
I know it was rude of me, but I couldn’t go back down that road with them. Having Doom inside me has made me a target for many people, and not in a good way. He got to his and made his way to the door, and he looked back at me. “You’ll regret saying no to me.” As his voice echoed through the house swarms of bats came in, and I felt my entire body let go. The bats started to attack me, and as their teeth pierced my skin it only made me more infuriated. I felt the wings burst out of my back like before, and the pain was more intense than last time. I could feel the blood slowly starting to flow my down my back. The room began to spin, and I fell to my knees. I could hear the cheering of Astro, and it just added to the anger.
The pain was excruciating, and I could hear the faint sound of wheezing. “Doom, are you okay,” his voice was cracked as he spoke, “yes, I’m fine.” “Are you sure,” he went quiet? As I stood up the bats got worse, their teeth were razor sharp. I could my blood flowing from my arms, and back in multiple lines. “Iron, are you okay you’re in pain,” “I’m fine, just don’t come home.” She didn’t ask why, and I was glad she didn’t. I looked at Astro, he was a faint image in all the wings. I watched as my nails grew into a point, and I could feel my teeth sharpen to a point. I looked down at the floor, and as I razors my hands they started to fall. I watched in amusement as they fell to their deaths. As their small bat bodies grew into humans, and blood running out of their mouth.
“Astro I must tell you, you get stupider each century. Have you forgotten I’m a god?” His eyes were wide as I made my way over to him, “No, Doom is a god. You aren’t!” I let my hand go to his face, “Hades, my father once vampires was his worst creation. Do you know why?” He swallowed as my finger toucher near his mouth, “You’re weak, you have no reliable place in the world. You lurk in the shadows.” I walked around him looking him head toe, “He felt guilty for making you so, weak.” “I am not weak! You’re weak, and so is he!” He moved out of my grip, and my eyes followed him as he made his way to the door. “You’ll regret what you did here today” I smiled, “Sure I will, everything backfires.” As he stepped the door it swung open, and I watched him shift. His face pulling into somewhat of snout, and he flew out as the door slammed behind him. Bats all of them were living blood banks.
