8. Sticks and stones, beautiful
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me,
But these words sure do cut deep.
We try not to admit,
Honestly we’re all full of sh.
I pretend that your words don’t hurt,
Then reality hits and I feel burnt.
I laugh with everyone as they openly judge.
I’ll try not to hold a grudge.
Grow up, we’re just joking!
It’s always a joke.
That’s what you’ll say,
But what happens when they stop answering?
Nothing, because you never cared.
I use to fight it,
But now I’m so tired.
The battle’s done,
All my confidence has gone.
Are you happy now?
Will it ever end?
Have you enjoyed my suffering?
Because I now for sure these words do hurt,
Sticks and stones would hurt less.
Nothing can stop the pain now.
It’s started and won’t end till it’s collected everything I own.
