Today is Just Another Day

These are poems about a girl who lost her mother and has to live with her dad, who is a drunk and is abusive. And she just wants to leave.

3. My new Home

We've finally arrived.

Dad's beat up house.

It's a distaster.

Whiskey bottles everywhere!

"I made up your old room"

Dad says to me.

"Let me guess, it's full

of broken bottles too?"

I lock myself away.

Thinking about my mom.

Why did this have to happen?

Why now?

I was finally fitting in.
