I got home FINALLY, and walked to the fridge to get some food.
I am kinda hungry after Michael and Luke.
I got some chocolate chip cookies, sat on the couch, and watched 'The Fault in our Stars.’ I drifted away into sleep.
When I awoke the sun was streaming through the curtains. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a morning person.
My host mom was at work and my host siblings were at school.
They knew I was going through a lot which is why I suspect she didn’t make me attend school that morning. While getting ready for the day my phone rang.
"Hello?" I asked, picking up the phone.
"Alex, have you heard from Mike?" Luke asked.
I wondered to myself why Michael would contact me. "I haven’t,” I replied.
"I just need to find him before it's too late" Luke said.
I was confused. "Before what’s too late?" I said. No reply. The call dropped or something.
What was Luke talking about?
I brushed my teeth and got my bag, I put my phone, my earbuds, my Lyrics book, and my phone charger, I was ready to take on the day.
I walked outside and went to starbucks. I walked outside and the morning breeze hit my face, fresh air felt good.
I walked to starbucks and orderd a carmel latte, I sat down and started writing Lyrics.
'So lately, I'm wondering, Who will be there to take my place, When I'm gone, You'll need love, To light the shadows on your face, If a great wish shall fall, It'll fall opoun your soul, Well I hope theres someone out there, oh, who can bring me back to you, If I could, Then I would, I'd go where ever you will go, We up high, Or down low, I go where ever you will go,' I liked the lyrics I was writing before someone walked in,
Michael. I hid my face the best I could, but Michael saw me and came over. "Why have you been avoiding me?" Michael said. "I...I haven’t been-" I lied.
It wasn’t his fault. He seemed really great. "I don’t believe you," Michael said with sadness in his voice.
I didn’t mean to hurt his feelings. "I'm just going through some stuff and I need to be alone, I don't want to talk about it." He nodded, placed his hand on my hand and said,
“I’ll wait until you’re ready.” I scribbled my number on a piece of paper.
“Look,” I said. “I know you’re going through a hard time too. You seem like a nice enough guy. If you feel like talking sometime let me know.” "Thanks" Michael said, then called me so I had his number.
I put him in the contact 'Mikey'
"I've got to go, but if you need me then, just call,” I said. I grabbed my bag and exited.
It seemed like I was constantly walking away from Michael.
