Kyle watched Holly pack up her books and papers as the final bell pierced the air.
Are you sure I can’t have her?
Control yourself, Gregory! You are an animal.
Can I have someone? Please?
Kyle could swear he heard the One sigh heavily. Fine. But not Holly.
Kyle grinned. At that moment, Holly looked up at him again, catching the maniacal expression on his face. Her eyes widened, and she turned and quickly walked out of the room, dragging her brunette friend, Lauren, behind her.
“Hol, what is your problem?” Lauren complained as Holly pulled her out of the classroom.
“I don’t like him. There’s something weird going on with him...the way he kept looking at me...it was just really creepy.” Holly shivered at the memory.
Lauren just rolled her eyes. “Oh, come on, Holly! He’s super hot! And he’s really nice! He even lets us use our phones in class! How awesome is that? I mean, how could you not like him?”
“I just don’t, okay? He creeps me out.”
Lauren scoffed. “Well, at least Alex doesn’t have to worry about getting jealous.”
“Why would I get jealous?”
Holly turned, and a grin spread across her face when she spotted Alex walking behind them. She stopped to let him catch up, and he took her hand in his.
Lauren spoke up. “Our new English teacher is, like, super hot and really nice, but apparently Holly thinks he’s creepy.”
“You didn’t see how he was looking at me?!”
“Nope. Too busy staring at those beautiful muscles of his. Mm-mm.” Lauren grinned. Holly made a disgusted noise, shaking her head. “Ugh.”
Alex laughed, but Holly noticed that he was suddenly gripping her hand tighter. She looked up at him, looked into his beautiful mahogany eyes. “Don’t worry. I’ll be fine.”
He gazed at her for several seconds, then moved to kiss her on the lips. She met him in the middle, and the kiss was long and sweet. In front of them, Lauren gagged, and Holly and Alex broke apart and laughed at Lauren’s faux-disgusted face.
