We left the hotel early in the morning. Ashton called and asked us where we were since we weren't at the headquarters. I carried Hazel's bag to the car as she walked side by side with me. I closed the door for her once she got in before I went to the other side and slid in the driver's seat.
The ride to the warehouse was quiet again. We sat in silence with nothing but the radio playing softly in the back. I didn't know what to talk about. Instead of making small talk, I kept quiet the whole time. Until she broke the wall of silence and spoke up.
"How long do you think we'll be staying here?"
I exhaled, "Maybe a few more days."
I saw her nod from the corner of my eye, "Can I ask you something?"
"What is it?" I asked.
"Why are we running from Thomas? You're a mafia leader aren't you? Why can't you just settle this between the both of you?"
"Cause it's not that easy. We can't just settle this with a pen an paper. Both our families, SOPRANO and Hemmings, have always been enemies."
"How did you become enemies?" She asked.
"I wasn't here when it happened, but Matthew, the old mafia leader told me about it. He said that Thomas actually used to be a part of this mafia, but of course Thomas didn't like the way Matthew was running things and thought he'd be a better leader. Matthew, on the other hand didn't know about this, he thought that he and Thomas grew a great friendship, but watch your back because even your brothers can be the ones who betray you. So one night Thomas actually tried to kill Matthew, of course Matthew being himself saw what Thomas was going to do and knocked him out cold. So Matthew, very stupidly let him go. Thomas built up his own mafia, SOPRANO and here we are.
"In a way, Thomas succeeded. Two years later, Matthew died by two bullets wounds. Shot by none other than Thomas himself." I finished.
"What would you have done?" She asked.
"Me?" I paused, I laughed lightly through my nose, "I would have killed him."
I heard her gasp lightly. My head briefly snapped in her direction before I looked back at the road, "It's nothing new."
"You've killed people before?" She asked.
I pursed my lips and turned the music up higher to avoid the question.

Luke had dodged my question by turning up the music volume. I couldn't help but wonder if he would kill me if he wanted to. I didn't dare want to put my theory to a test, but that left me wondering. How many people has he killed before? Has he even killed anyone?
I instead kept to myself and just focused on the road, but soon fear settled on me. Does he have guns in here? I tried to discreetly scan around the car. Looking for anything that could be used as a weapon.
"Everything okay?" I froze when I heard Luke's sudden voice.
I quickly pretended to be looking at my reflection on the screen of my phone, "Yep, I'm okay." I noticed that he had a puzzled look on his face, but he didn't question me. I had to sit on my hands so I didn't fumble with my hair, like I usually do when I am nervous.
It was a ride that seemed to last for hours. When Luke finally pulled up to the headquarters, I immediately got out. My bag was slung over my head as I sped walked towards Paul, who I found little comfort in. I smiled weakly at him, "How's Aurora?"
His eyes lit up when I mentioned her name, "She's good. I go back to California today."
I nodded. I remember when Aurora told me that Alex's eyes lit up at the sound of my name. I remember when he used to tell me he loved me everyday. All those little things that he did everyday were gone. I took a deep breath as we all migrated inside the warehouse. The black haired guy-who I found out that his name was Michael- caught eyes with me. I smiled at him but he looked for a second before dropping his gaze. Those cold and dark green eyes. I swallowed and sat on the nearest couch.
Luke and the rest were whispering amongst one another.
Night had fallen. The day was filled with nothing but boredom. We didn't go out at all. Luke didn't let me step outside of the warehouse and Paul was gone so I had no one to talk to. All I had to do was listen to Luke whisper in his phone, making phone calls after phone calls. Ashton opened the door with food in hand.
He smiled and I returned the genuine gesture. He sat next to me and handed me the Styrofoam plate with the food. "Thank you," I said.
"No problem, little one," He replied.
Ashton was the only one who attempted to make talk with me. He explained to me that we all weren't used to helping people so everyone probably saw me as a threat. I pursed my lips but nodded my head, understanding the explanation.
"Luke!" Michael shouted from a nearby window. I turned to Luke, who was already making his way to see what Michael was looking at.
"How the fuck did they find us?" Luke slammed his fist on the fall. Ashton had now left the couch and I moved to the window to see who had found us. I peered out and saw five men standing outside. Looking up at us. They wore black bandanas that had a design of a skull's mouth. They were glaring up at the windows. One of them saw me and I immediately pulled away from the window.
"Who's that?" I asked.
Luke and the rest were now rushing around the living room. They were carrying huge guns themselves. My heart beat quickened.
"That's SOPRANO," Luke replied. I followed him out of the living room as he went down the hall.
"What are you going to do?" I asked, he typed in a number in the key pad. The metal door that we stood in front shifted its gears and it hissed as it opened slightly. Luke pulled it open and stepped into the room that held various weapons. Machine guns, revolvers, daggers, you name it. I stared dumbfounded as the rest of the guys walked past me and reloaded their guns with ammo or picked up new toys to use.
"We," Luke said as he clicked the gun off safety. "Are going to handle this, you stay inside."
I gulped, "What if someone comes inside?"
Luke grabbed a dagger from the table and placed it on my hand, "Use this."
I looked at him and saw the anger pouring out of his eyes. I nodded and walked out of the room as they all did the same. Luke closed the door behind him. It sealed shut. They walked back down the hall and out the warehouse. I moved to the window the see what was happening. I saw Luke and the rest of the guys lining up in front of SOPRANO.
I furiously bit my lip as I held the dagger in my hand tightly. My phone vibrated in my pocket. I jumped and the knife fell out of my hand. My breath quickened as I picked up the knife and pulled out my phone to see who was calling. It was a private number. I ignored it and stuffed it back into my pocket.
All five men had their hands raised in surrender. Their weapons sitting at their feet, but Luke had his gun raised at their heads. My eyes widened, I wanted to hear what they were talking about, but the window was blocking all the sound.
I saw the man in the middle look up at me. His eyes told me he hid a smile under his bandana covered mouth. There was sudden loud noise, the man suddenly fell to the floor as Luke's finger was still on the trigger. I hadn't registered what happened. I didn't even jump ad the life left the man's body. Luke looked up at me.
A hand clamped over my mouth as I felt a hand wrap around my waist. I tried to scream but it was useless. The dagger had fallen from my hand. I desperately tried to reach for it with my foot but I was being dragged through the house. Fear crept in my throat as this was the second time I've been in this position. I kicked but my weak attempts did nothing. I prayed for anyone to come rescue me.
"Hazel!" Luke's frantic voice rang form the house as the man who held me was dragging me out the back door. We were nearly outside. A scream gurgled in my mouth and came out muffled, but it was enough. Luke saw me and raised his gun. My eyes widened. He pulled the trigger but instead a clicking sounds came out.
"Should've reloaded Luke," My kidnapper's voice laughed.
But Luke always had a back up plan. He pulled out a gun from his back and shot it at the man's arm who screamed in pain and dropped me. I ran towards Luke and hung onto him. He shot the man several more times. I jumped at every gunshot.
"Are you okay?" Luke asked.
I looked at the an who was laying in a puddle of blood, I nodded. Luke's arms were around me, but he quickly let go and simply held my shoulders and nodded.
"How did he get in?" I asked.
Ashton walked in, "Got something."
Luke led me into the living room. Everyone was gathered around. Michael handed Luke a rolled up paper who looked confused but took it anyway.
"We found it on Mario," David said.
Luke read the paper aloud, "A traitor is among you."
"That would make sense, how they found out where we were and also how they managed to get in here. All the doors were securely locked," Ashton added.
Luke threw the paper to the floor, "God fucking dammit! This is exactly what I didn't want!" He placed his hands on the side of his head in frustration. "Either it's one of you in this room or it's someone back in California."
Michael raised his hands in surrender, "How do we know it wasn't Miss Sunshine over there? She could be helping Thomas to bring us down."
"How could I be helping Thomas? He kidnapped me and I am here to protect my sister," I defended.
"Oh boohoo with your little sob story. The world doesn't fucking revolve around you okay, princess? Or do you want me to go fetch your Voss water and fan you with leaves from an exotic plant, while your ass sits on a damn throne you think you deserve," Michael spat.
"Enough!" Luke shouted. "Both of you." He glared between Michael and I. From that moment on, I knew that Michael officially hated me.
