14. Lily's POV
OKAYYYYYY!!! SO I just realized I just hit 3,000 reads on this! WHAT! NOOO WAAYY!! This means sooooooo much to me, thank you guys so much you mean the world to me.
The dream that Vanessa had that night in the great hall all makes since to me now. She was scared I would react exactly the way I did when she told me who she really was. In some ways, I feel bad for her, maybe in the deep, dark, recesses of my mind. I hate her more, though. She was just pretending to be my best friend, just trying to find a way to get to my father so she could kill him. She also tried to kill me! She was the one who threw the necklace at Murtle, and she only touched it so she wouldn't be a suspect. She even gained an innocent boy's trust, just to kill him! To be honest, she's actually a good actor, I mean, I was so nice to her. I CAN'T BELIEVE I TRUSTED HER! Anyway, that night I was talking to Hugo about all this in the Gryffindor common room. "I knew there was something nasty about that girl." He sneered. I nodded. "I can't believe I didn't see it before." "So what should we do about it." I looked up, startled. "What do you mean?" "Shouldn't we tell someone?" Hugo asked earnestly. "Of course." I replied confidently. For some reason though, I felt like I shouldn't expose her. She looked so scared, and the way she screamed and called for help... She seemed so innocent. I couldn't stand to watch her in pain. A part of me still wanted to be her friend... No. She was just trying to manipulate me. She's a traitor.
I hate her.
