Where was Q in those years?
Spending it going around the universe as a ghost.
Bored out of his mind.
Boring for the next thirty-two years
Then Q came across the spirit of Neelix.
Then Q learned how to cook without relying on his infinite knowledge.
That lasted for ten years.
Then Q met up with Kes and Neelix apparently they were good friends. How had he forgotten? Two souls that missed each other is something not easy to avoid. Yet, Q had not expected that. Kes has long evolved due to being a Ocampa that lived shorter than the average lifespan of a typical dog. He facepalmed at the flawed species that had rendered their lifespan incredibly short over thousands of years. They should have expanded their lifespan not decreased it.
Then he wondered about until he came across Janeway, who apparently was on her death bed, seeing the former captain in her most sorry state.
She saw him.
SHE SAW Q.
Sitting down in a chair knitting out of boredom.
"I knew you would come around one of these days," Janeway said. "You are not dead."
Q looked up toward her.
"I am dead." Q said.
"But . . ." Janeway said, puzzled.
"This is the first time we ever met, to me, former admiral." Q said.
"But. . But . . . We . . ." Janeway was at a loss for words.
Q stood up then revealed he was making a scarf.
"Like it?" Q asked. "I made it because of the cold. It must be cold in here because of my presence."
Janeway shuddered, feeling the sudden breeze of cold brushing against her face.
"Here!" Q said, wrapping the red scarf around her neck. "I am being nice because I am bored." He walked around the biobed to her side then turned the chair around facing her direction. "I can't make a sweater, really, I cannot. All I will do is make a scarf." He shrugged. "I don't know why, honestly, I just have the habit of making scarfs with all the infinite knowledge I have."
"Q. . ." Janeway said.
"If you want to live longer, former Admiral, then pray to your god." Q said.
"But . . . " Janeway said.
"No 'buts', no 'ifs', no 'maybe', no 'why'," Q said. "Do it."
"Q?" Janeway said. "But aren't you. . ."
"If you want to see Jean-Luc Picard alive then pray to your god, Kathryn." Q said.
"But . . . He is . . . dead." Janeway said.
"Not. yet." Q said.
Janeway closed her eyes.
"All right. . . I will." Janeway said.
Then he wondered about Jean-Luc Picard.
Then he wondered how Jean-Luc was doing.
Q wondered if Jean-Luc was having a better life in the land of the living.
So Q went to Gavalros Seven.
His heart shattered seeing the current state of mind and predicament Jean-Luc was in.
Everyone but the Doctor, Janeway,Tuvok from the Voyager had passed away.
Then Q made himself a vow to never get so bored and to take advantage of his advantage that he had.
In fact, he would do it watching over Jean-Luc Picard.
He would wait for his captain.
So that is what Q did.
