After school, Luke and I walked hand in hand back home. It was nice, just us two, fingers intertwined, in silence, not talking, but still not awkward. I can't work it out, how we ended up together. Giving into the sweet surrender that this is not the end.
We reached his house.
Bringing his hands up too his mouth, he kissed them with those lips. All I wanted was the taste that those lips allow me to get.
I stood on my tiptoes as we collided, stuck in the moment.
"Want to come inside for a bit?" He asked.
"Do you even need to ask?"
I stared at the ceiling of my bedroom, one thought roaming my mind. Would Luke take me to prom? I know I probably sound like a right teenage girl with all that drama right now, but as I clutched my penguin to my chest I wondered whether, for once, I wanted too be like all the other girls and go to prom, worry about what to wear, watch chick flicks all night. What would that be like?
~1 month later~
I sat on the edge of my bed scrolling through Polyvore, looking at all the prom out fits people had designed. I would be lying if I said I hadn't thought about prom a lot this past month. It's just constantly on my mind.
Prom was tomorrow night and Luke still hasn't asked me. I guess I'll just be lonely then. There's always next year. Or is it the year after? I don't even know why I'm stressing so much.
I guess I'll just see what happens.
~The next day~
"Hey babe," Luke said as I opened the door for him in th morning.
"Hey I replied pecking him on the lips," I was about to step out the dorr when I felt the sudden urge to eat something.
"Hold on a sec," I added, slipping back inside.
I searched through all the apples, trying to fing the reddest, juiciest one.
Satisfied with the one I picked up, I took a bite, slinging my bag over my shoulder and grabbing Luke's hand.
"Picky much, Snow White." He joked.
"Well I gues it won't be you I'm kissing when I wake up." I retorted.
"I think you got the wrong story there. It's sleeping beauty that falls asleep and is awaken by true loves kiss, not Snow White. That's why she's called SLEEPING beauty." Luke said, putting emphasis on the word sleeping.
"Don't diss ma disney! Snow White falls asleep too! Actually, she dies! Then Prince whatever wakes her up by true loves kiss! Jeez, get your facts right Luke."
Holding up his hands in mock defense, Luke pulled a puppy face.
"Aww, come one, you know you love me."
I held my stern glare, but not for very much longer. I huffed before giving Luke a peck on the lips. Oh, and then wacking him round the head and runnung away of course.
"Oh no you don't," Luke laughed, chasing me down the street. By the time we reached school we were exhausted.
Throughout the whole day I gave Luke hints about prom. He didn't seem to pick up on them though. And that is why I am now sitting alone in my room with Taylor Swift on repeat, sporting a pair of tracksuits with an oversized jumper.
Suddenly I heard a knock on my window. Through it I could see a mop of blonde hair. Sitting up from my (incredibly comfortable) position, I shuffled over the window and opened it, plopping down on the window seat. Luke sat next to me, but then changed his mind and began to wander around my room. "Why are you sitting there like your suffering from heartbreak, a.k.a break up? Last time I checked we were still dating." He chuckled at his own joke.
One thing confused me though.
"Umm, Luke, why are you wearing a suit?" It wasn't really a suit, more like a pair of jeans, a white t-shirt and a black blazer over the top.
He stared at me like I was crazy.
"Cuz I'm taking you to prom of course!" I sighed.
"Luke, prom started 15 minutes ago, plus I don't have a dress and my mum most likely won't let me out."
"Ssssssssssssshhhhhhhhh..." Luke said, placing a finger on my lips. I licked it cuz lyfe.
"Eww and you look amazing just the way you are now so come on, lets go crash a party, eh?"
He wiped his finger on his jeans before extending a hand out to me. I took it reluctantly and he pulled me out the window.
Bursting though the school doors, everyone went quiet. Everyone but the DJ. Luke dragged me over to the stage and whispered something in the DJ's ear. He nodded and began playing a song. Everyone stared at us with accusing eyes, but I ignored them. I was wearing pj's after all. Suddenly, Cinderella by Steven Curtis-Chapman burst out the speakers and Luke dragged me onto the dance floor. He began to sway to the music, pulling me along with him. I collapsed into his arms enjoying the moment.
"Just remember Luke, this princess doesn't fall asleep, but that sure well doesn't mean that she won't get a kiss from her Prince Charming."
He chuckled and pecked my lips.
"No one likes PDA," he stated, "though I'm sorry that this prom isn't perfect."
"Perfect? Luke, to say that this right now, right here isn't perfect is the understatement of the century. I just wish I could stay in this moment forever. With you. Always."
He pecked my lips once more before someone shouted. "OMG I SHIP IT! LUKANNAH! THEY'RE MY OTP!"
I laughed burying my head into the crook of Luke's neck. However irritating she can sometimes be, I can tell me and Anna are going to be great friends.
I gave you two updates in one day, you gotta love my for that.
And that's all I've got to say.
