My knee jigged up and down in a repetitive rhythm as I waited for her name. Every time I looked at the clock it seemed to stay at the same time.
She wouldn't leave me would she?
Of course not, I kept on telling myself, but only believing those words halfheartedly.
I fiddled with my hands, grasping and unclasping my fingers together, my knees crossing and uncrossing, then crossing the other way.
Went the waiting room door, each step the doctor making in his path towards me pounding on my heart.
Suddenly he came to a stop in front of me and turned on his heels to look me in the eye. "Luke Hemmings?" He asked.
I tried to say yes but I could only nod. "Please come with me"
I followed him down a set of white hallways until we stopped in front of a room.
Her face was white and ghostly, but she was still alive and breathing. Her beautiful blonde hair swept over her face and her ocean blue eyes gazed into mine, the same sparkle as always. But something wasn't right.
Her face held confusion as she scanned my face; the doctor took a deep breath then said "I'm sorry, Mr Hemmings, I really am, but Susannah has woken up from her coma with amnesia."
