35. House of Memories
"So my favourite colour was blue right?" I asked for possibly the 100th time.
Luke shook his head.
"Yes Susannah, you are correct. Though I don't know what your favourite colour is now."
I though for a moment.
"I mean, I'm starting to like orange and all. Now that I've heard Ed Sheeran,"
He laughed a deep throughty laugh.
"You used to be obssessed with him, you did. You would sing The A Team while boiling some eggs, Runaway was basically on repeat 24/7 in your room and Nina was like your theme tune,"
A grin spread on my face.
"Yeah, though I think Give Me Love is my favourite. I was talking to Naomi about it over Skype and she said the same."
Luke nodded in agreement.
"We did a cover of that song once,"
"Oh I forgot you forgot. 5 Seconds of Summer, our band. Me, Michael, Calum and Ashton,"
Suddenly the air around me seemed to tighten as we settled into an awkward silence.
This happened many times since I had started asking Luke the questions. Well what would you expect to happen with your ex-boyfriend you can't even remember falling in love with.
"So… Ur…" I started, scratching the back of my head. I didn't know what to say, though I wasn't speechless.
"Come with me."
I grabbed her warm hand and lead her to my car. We set of to the unknown destination only I knew.
She had no clue where I was taking her. She was showing at least a little trust.
I parked in the school grounds and continued to lead Susannah by the hand.
We walked straight through the front doors. No one seemed to be here, no one seemed to care. Wierd, I thought.
We walked through corridor after corridor until I spotted a certain door that I wanted to see.
"Luke, why are you taking me to sch-"
"On your first day here you got a detention because you kept on throwing paper at the teacher. I waited two hours for you to
come out and when you did… Well…"
I heard the painted door slam shut. Standing up, I saw a tiny body exit the classroom in a state of both anger and amusement.
"Suzy," I said.
But she didn't seem to hear me. Instead she just walked straight into me.
Luke! We need to stop meeting like this!" She laughed, picking herself up off the floor (with the help of me of course). I chuckled and stared her straight in the eye. They seemed to light up in a way I couldn't explain.
"How comes you waited for me?" she asked, her head tilted to the side and a curious look on her face. Cute.
"Oh... uh..." I stuttered, scratching behind my neck. It was a habit of mine. I would always do it when I was nervous.
I should tell her.
"So, er, basically, er... Your my only friend besides Michael and Ashton and I feel really stupid cause I've kinda had this little crush on you since like forever and-" I rambled. She cut me short by smashing her lips onto mine.
It started as a short sweet kiss, but it gradually got more intense. Her mouth on mine gave me goosebumps, and the taste of her tongue made shivers run down my spine.
I slammed her against the lockers as she tugged against the ends of my quaffed hair, making me moan and giving her permission to deepen the kiss. She was pure magic.
"Hey! You kids! Get out of the school grounds now!" It wad Suzy's English teacher.
We laughed before running iut the school.
That was the best day of my life. Expecially when she said yes.
"Yes to what?" Susannah asked.
I looked at the floor and shook my head.
"Yes to being mine," I responded, looking up at me.
I began to lean in, craving her touch in the spot we first collided as one.
Maybe it would of happened if we didn't hear a crash from a close by classroom.
"Crap. Lets run!"
We ran to the car, breathing heavy pants.
"Well that was... fun,"
