"Look, Chase, please don't beat up my brother. I know what he did was wrong, but could you please just let it go this once?," I say, looking at him innocently.
" Come on Lina, you and I both know that I cant do that. He embarrassed me in front of everyone, and has been a total brat since freshman year. He deserves it." He says with an exasperated look on his face.
" I know, but still. If you don't hurt him, I'll do anything. Anything. If you want to sit at the popular kids' table at lunch, you got it. You want to do graffiti all over the school, student council wont bother you. As long as you don't hurt my brother."
He pauses, obviously taking a moment to think about my offer. A twinge of hope begins to rise within me. Then, he smirks. Crap. When the bad boy, the scariest guy in school, smirks at you, it's definitely not a good sign. He leans against the lockers, looks down at all 5ft 7 of me, and says," You know what, I wont hurt your brother. On one condition."
"Anything," I say, looking into his eyes like an innocent puppy.
" A kiss."
That takes me back a bit. "A kiss? What do you mean a kiss?"
He ignores me. "In front of the whole school."
My jaw drops. "What?! I cant do that! I have a boyfriend, remember?"
His smirk turns into a full on grin. " Your problem, not mine. If you want to save your brother, all it takes is a kiss. One tiny little kiss, and your brother has freedom."
I look at him as if he's grown two heads. " But- I-"
"Tomorrow at the school assembly, I'll come up and kiss you. You don't have to act like you like it, you just have to let me. That should work for you and me. Okay?" And without waiting for my response, he walked out the school doors.
. . . . .
Before I go on with anything else, I'll give you a brief introduction of myself.
My name is Adelina Adams. I got to Ridgeview high school in Virginia, and am the "Queen Bee" on campus, also the president of the Student Council. My younger brother, Mitchell, is running back for the football team and thinks he can do/ get away with whatever he wants (which he cant), and my parents are both doctors. My boyfriend is David Jacobsen, the most popular boy in school, my best friend is a girl named Ella, and my arch enemy is the school bad boy, Chase Hills. My favorite food is biscuits and gravy, and I am the captain of the girls soccer team for my school. My height is five foot seven inches, my hair color is black, I hate wearing makeup and high heels, and my favorite color is light blue.
So yeah, not much to say about me.
But anyways, I'm off topic. Remember that talk I had with Chase? That's a big problem because 1) I have to let a boy who is not my boyfriend kiss me, 2) I have to get embarrassed in front of the whole school, and 3) I absolutely hate the guy I have to kiss. Our history is not a pleasant one. But that's a conversation for later. My biggest problem though, is my assumption of why he wants to embarrass me. I believe its because when we were ten he promised to ruin my life and now that my life is my kind of perfect he has to go in and screw it up. So yeah, not very good.
Now you're probably wondering: why go through so much trouble to help out you dumb ass brother? Well, my dear readers, there are two reasons for that. 1) because he's my younger brother and I love him and 2) because I owe him for covering for me while I went out with my friends. I seriously want to kill him for messing with chase though. He should know that Chase doesn't mess around when it comes to his reputation. He never lets people get away with the crap they do to him. But of course, my brother just had to badmouth him. And who came to the rescue?
Well, big sis of course.
