D A N I E L L A
The loud sound of pounding against my door woke me up.
"Dani! Dani, Dani, Dani, Dani, Dani, Dani, Dani!" I heard Mike shouting from outside my bedroom door.
"What?" I called back, just wanting to go back to sleep.
"Get up! You're coming with me!' He shouted, continuing to pound on my bedroom door.
"No. Just get one of the boys to go with you," I shouted back, hiding under my covers as I attempted to go back to sleep.
"That's who we're going to go see," His voice seemed suddenly closer. Before I could even reply, my covers were being ripped off of me. A quiet scream passed my lips as he did so.
"Why would you do that?' I asked him, my voice showing obvious irritation.
"Because I felt like it," he smirked evilly, knowing he was making me annoyed.
"That doesn't mean you have to do that," I said, sitting up in my bed.
"I do what I want, I'm punk rock," he said, making his way to my door.
"You can't say that," I told him before he left.
"Why's that?" He turned around and looked at me confused.
"Your hair is pink Michael," I said like it was the obvious thing in the word, which it sort of was.
"Whatever," he said, exiting my room, walking down the hall.
"It's still true!" I yelled, getting up, standing in the middle of my room.
"Shut up!" He shouted back.
I guess I should get ready.
I walked over to my dresser and pulled out a pair of skinny jeans and a black crop top
I quick ran downstairs to find Michael.
"Hey," I said as I rounded the corner and seen him.
"Yeah?" He asked, grabbing a beer from out of the fridge.
"Seriously?" I questioned as I seen what he was about to drink.
"What?" He asked, popping the top off the bottle.
I looked at the clock across the room, "it's only nine fifteen Mike," I said, "and you're already drinking," I crossed my arms over my chest.
"I do what I want, I'm punk rock," he said again, smirking as he took a swig of his Corona.
"You wish Pinky," I teased, walking up to my room.
I quickly changed, brushed my teeth, fixed my hair like I usually would, and put on light makeup.
I walked downstairs.
"Ready?" Mike asked, probably hearing my footsteps coming down the stairs.
"Yeah," I nodded as I rounded the corner.
"Let's go then," he said, grabbing his keys and setting his empty beer bottle down.
We headed out to his car and made our way to whoever's place we were going to.
The entire ride I had things on my mind. Last night. Calum. The kiss. Is everything going to be different between us now? I thought to myself.
"You okay? You've been quiet the entire time," Michael asked me once we arrived at Calum's house. I should've known we were coming here.
"Yeah, just a little tired," I lied, smiling weakly.
Mike just smiled weakly back and we went into the garage. We must've arrived at the right moment.
"Ponies forever!" Ashton shouted at the top of his lungs.
Michael, Luke, and myself burst into a fit of laughter.
"What the hell was the point of that?" Michael asked laughing.
"Don't swear," Ashton glared at him, "we have a child in our presence," he chuckled, referring to me.
"I'm not that much younger than you are!" I exclaimed, trying to defend myself.
"I'm four and a half years older than you are Dani," Ashton smirked.
"But then again," I started, "Luke and Calum are two years older, Mike is three years, and you're four, but," I paused, "each one of you, excluding Luke sometimes, don't even act half you age, and here I am acting my age all the time," I said, telling the truth.
"Damnit," I heard Ashton mumbled under his breath.
"She's got a point Ash," Luke said, agreeing with me.
"This doesn't concern you, Hemmo!" Ashton exclaimed, obviously trying to make up a comeback.
"While you're still trying to figure out what to say," I started, turning to walk into the house, "I'm gonna get a drink," I said.
"Hey! While your at it, can you find Cal and tell him to hurry up," Luke asked before I exited the garage.
I just nodded before I left the room.
I might as well find him first. I thought to myself. I checked the living room and kitchen. He wasn't in either of the rooms. I contemplated on wether or not I should go check his room.
Sighing, I decided I should just go up to his room. He's probably in there.
Hearing the sound of I Miss You by Blink-182 on guitar, I smiled. But then I realized what I was up here for. Knocking on his door, I was ready to tell him to go downstairs and leave so nothing would be awkward.
"Come in," I heard Calum say from inside.
My shaky hand, grabbed the door knob and turned it, opening the door for me to walk in.
"Oh, h-hey," Calum stuttered, his guitar in his lap, his voice sounding as nervous as myself.
"Hi," I murmured, looking at the floor, I took my bottom lip between my teeth, "uh--the boys need you downstairs," I quickly said.
"Oh okay," he mumbled as I turned to walk off back downstairs.
"Hey Dani," he said, stopping me before I left his room. I turned to look back at him, "can I talk to you?" He asked.
"Uh," I though about it, I had some things to talk to him about as well, so I guess u could. "Yeah, yeah sure," I nodded.
He scooted over on his bed and patted the spot next to him. I sat down next to him but made sure there was more than enough room between the two of us.
"So..." I murmured, not knowing what to talk about first.
"So...?" He said but it came out questionably.
"Uh..." I paused, "the kiss," I said the first thing that came to mind, "it was good," I said, not really meaning what I said. The kiss was better than just good.
"It really good," Calum said from beside me.
"Okay, it was really good," I smiled, "now what?" I asked, looking down at my hands in my lap.
"This," confused I turned to look his way. Only to feel his soft lips on mine. I immediately reacted, his hands placing themselves on my waist. I placed my on his shoulders. He pulled me closer to his side. Our lips moved perfectly in sync as we kissed. He lifted onto his lap. My legs on either side of his waist. We stayed like that for a while, only pulling away for air.
"Cal- what the hell is going on here?!" Calum and I immediately pulled away when we heard Michael's voice yell. The two of us quickly pulled away, I stood up and backed away from Calum. He stood up from the bed as well and backed off.
"Don't get mad-" I started but he cut me off.
"Mad? I'm not mad! I'm furious Daniella," he shouted, waving his arms around in the air.
"Don't get mad at her, it was my fault. I'm the one that kissed her," Calum interjected, attempting to help make the problem disappear. That didn't help.
"I'm mad you both!" Michael shouted, walking closer to Calum and I, "I just caught you making out with my little sister," he growled, walking closer to Calum.
"Calm down, it was just a damn kiss Michael. Not like you haven't ever gone further than that with any girl," Calum snapped, and immediately I wish he didn't say anything.
Instantly Michael threw three heavy punches at Calum's jaw.
"Michael!" I screamed, pulling him back but he just ripped himself out of my grip and went back to hitting Calum.
"Michael, stop!" I yelled, pulling him back, I pushed him away from Calum.
"Please tell me you're okay," I murmured to Calum as I examined his face. His lip was busted badly and his eye looked like it was going to bruise.
He didn't reply, just lightly touched his cut lip, winching pain as he did so.
"Come on, we're going home Daniella," Michael said from behind me.
"If you think I'm going home with you," I started, looking back at him, "I'm not," I said, anger clearly showing as I spoke.
Michael didn't say a thing, he just glared at Calum before storming out of the room, leaving the house completely.
"Come on," I grabbed Calum's hand and pulled him to the bathroom. I began looking through the cabinets for something I could clean his lip with.
I took my bottom lip between my teeth, grabbed a wash cloth and got it wet. I dabbed his lip where the cut was cleaning the blood off. I searched the medicine cabinet to find somethings that'd clean the wound. There was a small of hydrogen peroxide inside. I grabbed it out and looked for a cotton ball or a cotton swap. I quickly found a cotton ball. I pour some of the hydrogen peroxide on the cotton ball.
"This may sting," I mumbled, dabbing the wound carefully. To my surprise, Calum didn't move.
Once the wound was properly cleaned, I threw the cotton ball in the garbage and put the hydrogen peroxide away.
I looked up at Calum to find him staring down at me.
"Why'd you stay?" He asked, surprising me.
"I wanted to make sure you were okay," I said half the truth. Truth is I didn't want to leave him hurt. I cared for him way more than Michael would want me to.
"There's more to it, I know there is." He said. Before I could say anything he continued, "and don't say there isn't because I know you Daniella." He told me, and I knew what he was saying was true.
"Well, I don't want my brother and his best friend to be at each other's throats," I exclaimed, running my hands through my dark hair, "you're like his brother Calum. And I didn't ever feel like I wanted to get in the way of the relationship between you two and I did. It's all my fault that this happened. So now I take one hundred percent-" I rambled off but he cut me off.
He leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. Before I could react, he pulled away.
"You're cute when you ramble," he ran his thumb over my bottom lip.
I blushed madly, looking down at the floor.
"Wanna go watch a movie?" Calum asked, smiling down at me.
I just nodded.
Calum bit his lower lip, as if he was thinking of something. He wrapped his arms around me, I wrapped mine around his neck.
Startling me, he picked me up bridal style. I screamed quietly, not expecting him to lift me up. I blushed and hid my face in his chest, embarrassed. I felt the vibrations from his chest as he chuckled.
I looked up at him once he started walking. I realized his features before and I admit he is very handsome. But it's like every time I see him, I fall for him more than I should.
"Staring's not polite, you know?" Calum smirked, looking down at me.
Rolling my eyes, I smiled and said, "neither is randomly deciding to carry a girl," I said to him.
"Touché," he smiled. I love his smile. It's so contagious. I couldn't help but smile back up at him.
Descending the stairs, Calum made his way into the living room. He set me carefully down on the couch and began walking towards the front door.
"I'm gonna see if Ash and Luke are still here, I'll be right back," he said before I could ask where he was going. back.
"I guess they left, probably sick of me taking forever or because Mike said something," I heard Calum say as soon as the movie started. He sat down next to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I moved closer into his side.
I just nodded, into the movie hardly even started but yet I was so engrossed into it. Calum must've notices because I heard him chuckle quietly.
Half way through the movie I looked up at Calum, wanting to ask him something but afraid to do so at the same time.
Finally I decided I should just ask, "Cal," I murmured quietly. He looked down at me. I looked at his features. No matter how beat up he looked, he was still beautiful. My hand cupped his cheek and I pecked his lips.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked him, his hand grabbing my hand, intertwining our fingers.
"Anything," he nodded.
I took a deep breath, "does this," I paused, motioning between the two of us, "does this mean anything?" I questioned.
He quickly cupped my face in his hands, leaning down. His lips brushed against mine, kissing me gently but also very passionately. I kissed back with the same amount of passion he was giving.
After a while, he was the first to pull away, resting his forehead against mine.
"Does that answer your question?" He breathed, his warm minty breath fanning my face.
"Yeah," I murmured, "yeah it does," I said, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips.
Calum smiled down at me, kissing my forehead gently before we went back to watching the movie.
The movie was almost over but I couldn't help but feel tired. My eyes would close every now and then but I would try so hard to continue staying up. Finally I just gave up, closing my eyes.
"Goodnight Princess," I heard Calum whisper before I drifted off to sleep. I wasn't sure if I was just hearing things but either way, I fell fast asleep with a small smile played upon my lips.
