I ran back out of the forest, ready to yell at the bullies. But they weren't there. Neither was Linoca. I took my bike from the bike rack and mounted it. Then I cycled home. Still no sign of Linoca.
When I got home, I left my bike down at the front step and twisted the key in the door.
"Is that you Anica?"
"Yes mum, I'm home,"
I was about to tell mum about Linoca and the bullies, when I saw Linoca dash up the stairs. I followed her.
Linoca entered our room that we shared and I managed to slip in too.
"Anica! When did you get home?"
"Just now," I told her, dragging her onto the bed.
Linoca just stared at me.
"Tell me what happened," I whispered quietly. "I'm your little sister."
"Yes, my little sister!" Linoca snapped, "So you can't boss me around!"
"I'm not." I told her calmly, "But I am tough when I need to be. Tell me what happened. I'm only younger than you by a month."
"Okay," She sighed.
"Have you told mum?"
"No, not him either."
I placed my hands on top of hers. "Well you've got to tell someone."
"They saw me walking out of school and dragged me into the forest. Then- they just insulted me a bit, that's all,"
"What about your bleeding arms then?"
Linoca took a deep sigh and said, "Fine, they pinched me too."
"What did they say to you?"
"Anica, it doesn't matter, okay?"
"But- it does!"
"N- I just don't want to talk about it. It will only bother me. Besides, I don't care what they think."
But she said it weakly and discouraged.
"Okay, fine. Thanks for telling me though." I mumbled.
"But always know you can tell me... anything, okay?"
Linoca gave me a weak smile and walked out of the room. Leaving me alone.
I walked over to my bed and flopped on it. A million thoughts raced through my head.
Should I tell mum or dad?
What if this happens again and she doesn't tell me?
What if they start to pick on me?
Does Linoca really care about what they say?
Am I really not trustworthy to her?
Just then, Linoca's phone bleeped on her bedside table. It lit up. I tried my best to not think about it, but again, a million thoughts raced through my head.
I got up slowly, and took it. It was a message. From the app- "Medianow"
Media is a social-media app, like twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
I tapped it, and the first thing I saw was an insult to my sister, from Siofra.
OMG did u guys c that stupid Linoca girl 2day? She looks like a zomB from the walking ded! (Siofra is not at all a good speller) Those shoes, alongside her face! Yuck! Poor ***** It must b horrible to walk around like that evryday!
Two likes- from Angelina and Kila.
One comment- I no right?
I tapped on Siofra's profile picture. It brought me into her page. Nearly all of her recent things were about my sister!
1. I wish I wasn't in that horrible Linoca's class. She shouldn't live.
My heart beat faster than ever. Linoca... had seen this.
I never read the rest.
How could Siofra say that? I tapped on views again. There was Linoca's profile picture. She had defiantly seen it.
