26. The Fight
Since Jack said he had everything under control, which I was still wondering about, we just acted like we were working when we were really talking about nothing. Until someone came into the room.
I forgot about him.
I was so wrapped up with Jack.
“You!” he screamed, coming back to us. “You went to me mother? Well, ya got me into trouble. I got my car keys taken away from me because of lies, saying I'm harassing you?”
“You are harassing me, don't blame that on me. And, no, I didn't go to your mother, your brother came to me and I told him to tell you to leave me alone.”
“Young man, I'm sorry, but you will have to leave this room!” the teacher said firmly.
“I'm in this class and I'm busy.” he looked back at her for a second then back at me. “Well, he didn't come to me but he called my mom! My mom, Liz! Do you have any idea the shit I'm going to hear because of your lies?!” he raised his hand, maybe to hit me, I'm not sure but Jack stood up and put his arm across before Hayes got the chance to show what he was going to do.
“Leave her alone, get the hell outta here.”
“Who are you?” he pushed Jack.
Jack went into the aisle and pushed him back. They ended up fighting but not long before security came in and separated them. “Let's go boys, were going to see Principle Astern.” he took them into the hall
“What? No, that's not fair. Jack didn't even do anything!” I follow and looked at them, Hayes had a bloody lip and Jack's shirt was torn off his broad shoulder.
“Young lady this is none of your business. Please, stay out of it.” the guard said.
“Don't you tell me what to do! This is one hundred percent my business. They were fighting because of me. So let me tell you this; Jack didn't do anything but defend himself. Hayes started it. He came in here yelling at me then he pushed Jack.”
“Why was he yelling at you?”
“That's none of your business.”
“What's your name?”
“Just answer, please.” he said impatiently.
“No, you don't need to know my name.”
“Her name is Elizabeth.” Hayes roller his eyes.
“Shut up, Hayes. No one was talking to you!” Jack growls.
“Listen to me closely, Elizabeth. You are a high school student with a big attitude, now these two are already in a lot of trouble for fighting, do you want to be in some trouble for not listening to me when I tell you something as well giving the higher authority attitude?”
“Higher authority?” I repeat and laugh. “Your a high school security guard. What are you gonna do; give me a slap on the wrist?”
