10. The Bedroom
“Yeah why not.” he shrugged then laid on my bed, looking up at the ceiling. “I mean, we could just hang out in here and chill. Plus, you won't have to worry about your sister not knowing where you are.” he looks at me.
I stand there like an idiot, staring at him. I can hear him, I want to respond. But what do I say? My mind draws a blank. He's laying on my bed. Oh god. His scent will be on my sheets. Damn, I'm such a weirdo.
“Liz?” he snickers. “Are you still alive?”
“Uh. I. Yeah, why wouldn't I be?” idiot.
He gives me a look then looks back at the ceiling. I don't know why he's interested in looking a white wall but okay. “Come lay next to me.” he says.
That's why. It was like bombs were set in my knees. They stopped working immediately and I had no choice but to lay next to him. He nods, with approval, I guess.
“Answer this question for me.”
“Sure.” I had no idea how I was able to speak, considering I was having a heart attack.
“Why didn't you wanna have sex with me last night.”
Awkward Silence filled the room.
That was because of me.
I had no clue what to say
“Do you have any other siblings.” I feel like running away and hiding, my knees were already broke so I would just fall on my face and embarrassed myself more if I tried to run.
“Yes. Will and Skylynn. Don't change the subject. I hear around school you have a huge crush on me, and I ain't gonna lie; you're pretty hot yourself. So why did you decide to kick me out?”
“I didn't!” I say louder than I wanted. “You left.” I lower my voice but it sounded like I was on the verge of crying and I think he heard it too because he cleared his throat in an awkward-like manor.
“Okay, you're right, I guess. But why didn't you wanna do anything with me if you like me? Liz, just saying, a lot of girls would kill to be in your shoes last night. One including your own sister...”
I wasn't sure if that was true or not but okay.
“So how about you explain yourself a little.” he stood up now and crossed his arms.
I was only able to sit up, I still wasn't able to feel my knees. “Okay.” I sigh and close my eyes. “You want the truth?”
“Kinda.” he says forcefully.
“I was scared.”
He doesn't say anything.
“Me?” he snickers quietly, I pretend I don't hear. “Why were you scared of me?”
I open my eyes. “Are you kidding?” I was shocked that he thought of it that way. Or he's just playing me again.
He leaned down and pushed me back. Hovering over me, his crystal eyes are staring into mine. I lost my breath again. “Are you scared now?”
I nod slowly. Shaking because I am more scared now then I was last night. So much so I pray I don't have a seizure right here.
He smiled and looked at me quivering lips then back into my eyes. “Good.”
