After our little drive back to town, the mysterious man, who's name is Harry, helps me get my car towed and sent to a shop. He also gave me a ride home as I offered him to come inside for some coffee and cookies.
He simply neglects my way of thanking him and said that he had to leave quickly.
All I knew was that he had a sister, mother and apparently step father. He told me he planned on becoming a writer and was looking for a job in this town.
It was now eight o'clock at night and I was preparing myself to go to bed. I enjoy sleeping so I might as well get lots of it.
Before covering myself with a duvet I had received a text from Brendon reading.
Bren: got ur message. im too hot to be a hoe bitch
Me: I'm no bitch I'm a queen. learn the difference
With that I put my phone aside and sleep with a smile on my face.
I groan as my alarm clock goes off, making me smack it with my sore arm.
I open my eyes slowly while I bring the palm of my hand to cover my tired yawn. I scratch my head and look at the clock to see that I'm late.
"Shit!" I curse as I jump out of my bed, only to have myself fall face flat onto the floor.
"I'm here! I'm not late!" I shout as I walk behind my desk and drop my bag and phone onto it. Brendon walks by with a smile on his face as he shakes his head.
"Get that smug look off your face." I say as he raises his hands in defense.
"Sorry just thought I'd say hello." He says as I smile and sit down. He soon puts a cup of coffee on my table and says, "Did you hear the news?"
"What news?" I ask with a curious look. I tie my longer hair into a high ponytail as I grab my mug and take a sip of my coffee. My nerves relaxed immediately and I was able to calmly work.
"They're bringing in a new sucker." He says as my face scrunches into a rather upset expression.
"Can you not call them that? Just 'cause they have a disorder or disability doesn't make them any different then us. They still breathe, sleep and eat like us." I point out as he looks down and apologizes. I forgive him and soon look at the front doors, which bust open.
Two guards were bringing in a patient who was practically tied with the sleeves of his jumpsuit. I gasped as I recognized the long, curly brown hair and electric green eyes.
I dropped my mug of coffee to the tiled floor, spilling coffee and pieces all around me. I cursed myself, but was also embarrassed because everyone was now staring at me, including Harry.
Brendon soon puts his hand over mine and says, "Shoot, you okay Lexi?"
He jumps over my desk and begins to clean up the mess as I look away from everybody else and walk out the room.
What's Harry doing here? This doesn't make any sense.
"Lexi!" I hear someone shout as I see Dr. Ruth walk over to me with a pile of work in her hands. I smile, trying to hide my nervous-freaked out state from her. I notice my hands shake and soon hold them together tightly.
"Hello Dr. Ruth." I say as she greets me back.
"I just wanted to assign you a patient." she says as she hands me the paper work. My eyes widened out of shock and excitement. I get to help out for once.
"Really? Thank you! But may I ask, why me?" I asked her as she began to walk back to the offices with me.
"You've been here for quite a while now, and you seem to work well with the patients, especially Tomlinson yesterday. He became a bit violent and you handled it perfectly." she says as I nod.
"So we thought you'd be perfect for this case." she finishes as I thank her one last time. She soon walks off as I decide to open the file. My heart drops as I read my patients name.
