He’d never tried to kiss me, even when we practically shared the same bed half of the summer. And then he was gone. For six tormenting weeks. I thought I was going to die after day two.
But today, my torture was over. Today, Calum Hood returned. My best friend and future husband. Not that I told him that yet. I just couldn’t wait to change my last name to his. Abigail Hood. Perfect in every way.
The doorbell rang. Snapping me out of my daydream. I quickly ran down stairs, skipping steps on the way.
I raked my fingers through my long light ombre hair before opening the door. The sun hit my face along with Calum’s Hotness.
His brown hair with blonde streaks, tousled over his forehead, almost touched his intense brown eyes. He wore a grey NASA shirt, and I always fight hard not to drool over his huge biceps. Hands shoved into the pockets of his black skinny jeans, he just stood there and looked at me.
Then his mouth curled into his signature smile
“What is it, Abbi? I know you’re dying to hug me.” he said in his australian accent that I can never get right every time I mock him. I smiled showing my perfectly straight teeth after wearing braces for 2 years. I ran and gave him a big bear hug. He dragged me outside and twirled me under the warm sun with my face buried in the crook of his neck. Ah, he smelled so good, sun-kissed and all Calum. I never got enough of that amazing smell.
“So how was it?” I ask as he sets me down.
“Two words. Boring and Hell without you”
I roll my eyes, “As if and that was 5 words” I say sticking my tongue out.
He laughed at my childness. I smile I love making him laugh
“So can we go to the park?” I ask.
He sighed “I’d love to but Luke says we have to meet at Niel’s for a meeting”
I grunted. Ever since Luke Hemmings became the new coach of the soccer team he has been doubling the training time and adding new meetings. Which means I will have less time with Calum. I hate him.
”You know maybe you can tag along. I’m sure he won’t mind” I was suddenly filled with happiness and nodded eagerly.
“Yeah okay let me just get ready” Calum’s eyes scanned my body. “Nah you seem fine to me. I could have a good view from behind” he said flirtatiously.
I tried to hide my flaming red cheeks by looking down at my attire. Black booty shorts and a cut Blink 182 muscle tee Calum cut for me.
I smack his arm “Calum” I said sternly. Although I completely liked what he said.
He laughed “Just go put on some decent shoes”
I nodded and ran to my room
When we reached Niel’s, a girl with really bright red lipstick and really really short sundress dress, Heck shorter than my shorts, walked right up to Calum. Her bust look like it was going to fall out of it.
“You’re late Thomas” she said in her squeaky high pitched voice. How does she even know his middle name?Only his sister calls him that I expected him to wave her off but he rested his hands on her waist.
”Sorry Cloey, I just had to meet with my….friend” I filled with rage. He called me a friend. I wanted to cry and yell at him at the same time. Calum never called me a friend
“Alright everyone settle down” Luke shouted over the loud voices. His eyes scanned the crowd and landed on mine. I quickly look away.
She winked at him then gave me the strangest once over I ever got. My glance skated to Calum’s face. What the hell was that? And seriously, he didn’t have to drool over her shamelessly long legs when she sat down with her clone minions and swung one over the other. Her white mini dress must have shrunk in the wash, because something red flashed underneath.
“Mixed soccer teams, huh?” I grumbled at Cal while we sat down—he opposite Cloey, and I between him and Liam with the cast.
“The tryouts are tomorrow, Grace. I can put you on the list, if you’re interested,” Luke called out to me, a mocking glint in his light blue eyes. The fact he even knew my name caught me off guard.
“Abigail and soccer?” Calum laughed next to me. It hurt in a weird way. “You might as well try to get an elephant dance the tango. Right, Abbi?”I directed an irritated scowl at my supposed best friend. He didn’t even notice when the entire bunch joined in the laugh.
“The elephant is a close hit home,” Barbie said to the redhead next to her then flashed me a cruel smile. Sorry, what? I was a perfect size XS. My five feet four might seem a little short to her huge ass six foot something, but I was in no way fat. I decided to punish Calum later for pretending not to have heard that. In all the time we had been friends, not once did he let anyone insult me without breaking their jaw. Okay, messing with Cloey’s face would be a little too dramatic, but he could at least have said something to defend me. Since he seemed to have forgotten how, I returned the sweet smile to the Barbie Clone.
“I tried puking my meals in ninth grade, but then this seems to be more your thing than mine.”
The laughter died, and Calum choked on his Red Bull he ordered while the rest of the group pretended to be conversing in lowered voices. The only sound, a chuckle, came from the place where Luke Hemmings sat.
Cloey narrowed her eyes at me. “Did you just insult me?”
I almost choke on my saliva.
I checked out my chipped nails “I don’t know you tell me”
Throughout the whole meeting Barbie sent glares at me. I just smiled innocently in return.
Finally after 20 minutes of talking about soccer, I realized I had to use the loo. I left without telling Calum because I am in no mood in talking to him. I did my business and started walking to where Cloey and Calum were sitting together but someone blocked my way
“So are you up for it or not?” someone said I looked up and saw Luke looking down at me with his blue eyes. My eyes widen. He really meant it.I looked over at Cloey. Jealousy hit me like a brick when she dug her dragon like claws in his biceps. Cut your fudging claws woman!!! I looked back at Luke.
“Yeah sure ok” he smiled and bit his bottom lip as his eyed my body.
“Wear something that not too revealing. You don’t want guys throwing themselves at you” he smirked and winked at me. This sent a shiver skating down my neck.
Calum got up from his chair, away from the barbie Thank goodness! and dragged me out of the café.
We walked most of the way in silence, until we were close to home and I exploded right in his face. “I can’t believe you did that!”
“What?” He looked at me baffled
“You let that girl insult me and didn’t say anything.”
“You had everything under control. And she didn’t really insult you.”
“Oh, right. You did! You called me an elephant.”
Calum took my hand and pulled me with him. “You know it wasn’t meant like that. I don’t see why you’re throwing a fit now. And why did you join the tryouts? I heard everything”
“Oh don’t change the subject Calum and because I can okay. I can make my own decisions”
“You never even liked soccer! When did that change?” he exclaimed letting me go and throwing his arms in the air
“Today! Now I love it”
“Yeah, I can see that. So badly that you want to be a player.” He rolled his eyes. “Please, tell me you’re not doing this because of Cloey.”
I gritted my teeth.
Suddenly, his arm was wrapped around my shoulders, and he pulled me close to his side as we walked on. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re jealous of her.”
“The girl can get lost in her closet full of Barbie dresses for all I care.”
He sighed “I think you two would get along with each other. Abbi just try”
I shook my head and scowled, “Never in my life would I hang out with someone like her. What? you think we would become instant best friends. That we would braid each others hair going over for sleepovers.”
He said nothing. So I walked the rest of the way home myself.
A/N: Hi guys I'm Katie. I'm new to this site I barley joined today and I'm liking this so far. I never really like the way I wrote my stories in Wattpad (Follow me there-> @Hemmings_bookworm) Even though this story is already on Wattpad I tend to rewrite some scenes or add scenes.
So I will be writing a Muke or Cake fanfic so tell me what you think of this and if I should make another fanfic. k thanx <3
