His mother was sitting in the living room as Joe came in with a big parcel of fish.

“Good Lord Joe, how are we going to eat all that? “

I’m sure there are neighbours who will eat some.

“Would you like some Steamed fish for your tea then? I can make you some steamed vegetables with it.

“Sounds nice; keep a couple of those fillets for Bella will you mother I’m going to take a quick shower and get changed.

Alright son; your dad is at the bookies I think; he will be home soon.

Alright; I won’t be long as I’m meeting Bella at six o’clock.

“I will put your fish in the oven now then.” Sally took four of the huge pieces of fish and placed them in a baking tray then placed some milk over them and placed them in the oven, then set about peeling some carrots; she had frozen peas and some cauliflower that Joe liked.

Joe shaved after coming out of the shower then slashed some aftershave on that he’d brought back from America.

He put on a light adidas tee shirt and a pair of tracksuit bottoms and his England tracksuit top. His blue adidas training shoes with three white stripes were size fourteen he put them on then tied the laces. Then he packed away all of the clothes that he would need for his trip to London. His suits, shirts, shoes, ties, and under wear his mother had packed for him.

“He came out of the bedroom just as his father came in something smells good.

“Well you can wait Joe has got a date with Bella at six o’clock.

“Its okay mother there’s more than enough for all of us there must be at least twelve pounds of fish there that you’ve cooked.

“I know son but you might get hungry on the plane.

“It’s only an hour flight.”

“Oh I thought you were driving down.”

“Right then I will put some out for us all.

“I made some new potatoes can you eat them?

“Yes, but not too many mother.”

Sally Kimber filled Joe’s plate he must have had at least six pounds of prime pieces of Cod, ling, and haddock on his plate in fact she used the roasting plate to put everything on because her other plates just weren’t big enough for Joe.

“How do you cope in America Joe as I don’t suppose their plates would be big enough for you either?’

They serve the food on the table mother; it is put into individual dishes and you just help yourself.

“Ah, I see.

The food served in the restaurants dad, you wouldn’t believe the size of; they make this like a snack honestly.
