“Now Ralphie you will have to direct me to your home.

“Can you remember the Broadway pub?

“Yeah well it’s not far from there.

“No problem, Joe drove up towards Northumberland Square, where the statue of the “Old Wooden Doll” still stood proudly. He turned right at the traffic lights then headed towards Northumberland Park. “Are we taking the scenic route laughed Ralphie.

“Yeah; I hope that you don’t mind; I just want to remind myself what makes the North East such a beautiful place to live.

Joe got to Front Street in Tynemouth then headed down to The Priory Castle then along the coast to the boating lake where he went with his father as a boy.” Johnny’s Amusement Arcade and the Plaza Ballroom were still there as he turned left at the Park Hotel which leads onto the Broadway. “Left or right Ralphie?”

Right please its just about five doors from the pub.”

“Very convenient said Joe.’

Anne Colquhoun came to the door with the children and Joe got out to meet them.

“Hi guys said Joe to the kids can I get a high five?

Joe put up his massive hand and the children slapped it.

“Alright! Joe then bent down and kissed Anne; he gave the kids five pounds each then waited until Ralphie returned before embracing him.

“Good luck Joe and I will hopefully see you with that medal round your neck.

“See you next week end shouted Paul from the car to Ralphie.”

“Both of them waved as Joe pulled away and tooted.

Right young man just you to go.”

I live just across the road from Percy Main Primary School.

“Great stuff; do you see any of our old teachers?

“Yes nearly all the time Agnes is on the committee there and does a lot of fund raising activities and is coach for the girl’s netball team.

“Wow! That is really cool.

“When you bring home the gold medal will you call into the school Joe?

“Would I; Yeah of course I will. It would be good to see the old school again.

When Joe dropped Paul off Agnes came to the gate and asked Joe in but Joe looked at his watch and said he was sorry but that he definitely would when he came back.

“Tell my sister I will see her tomorrow night.”

“How did you know I was going to see Bella tonight?

I rang her this morning, she tells me everything. Oh Joe I’m so pleased for you both.”

Joe kissed her then hugged his friend. “Did you get your fish?

“Yes mate I have it here.” See you soon Joe, take care.”

Again off Joe went back to his mother’s house.
