“Seriously though folks, it’s great to be back with not only you all but with my friends from school. I hope to put North Shields on the map next month when I travel to Montreal to compete in the Olympics and hopefully I can bring home the gold medal.’
Another round of applause went up as Joe left the stage he looked up as he walked to his seat to see the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen.
She stopped at his table and Paul moved along to let them sit down.
When Joe returned Agnes stood up and kissed Joe on the cheek.
Nice to have you back Joe; you remember Bella don’t you.”
“Yes I do very much so.
Hello Joe said Bella; I told I would wait for you.”
“Bella you’re beautiful; Joe couldn’t take his eyes off the woman sitting next to him.
She was wearing a light blue suit her dark hair was long and curled up at the edges. Her eyes were deep blue and her lips full.
He took in everything about her. Bella was about five feet ten inches tall and had a figure to die for.
Can I get you all a drink?
Everyone gave him their order and Joe made his way to the bar. He ordered the drinks and got himself an orange juice.
“Your drinks are on the house Joe.”
“Thank you so much said Joe as he brought the tray of drinks over then held the tray in one hand then served the ladies first I got an orange juice for Kev’ when he comes in.
A group came on and began to sing and Bella turned to Joe and asked if he was not going to ask her to dance.
“Yes sorry Bella would you care to dance.
“I would love to smiled Bella; her teeth sparkled as the lights from the dance floor shone on them.’
“So I see you going to the Olympics in Canada next month?
“You’re well informed.
“Yes Joe, I have followed your career from the very start. I just hope that you don’t disappoint me.
“Disappoint you how?
“By not winning the gold medal at the Olympic Games.
“I will be doing my very best to win and when I lift that bar above my head I will think of you.”
“Why would you do that Joe?
“Because, you make me want to be a better man Bella.”
“Well at least I do something for you.” Nothing more?
No no, Joe said nervously.
“Tell me then Joe; I have waited over seven years to hear you tell me.”
“I, Love You Bella, I always have you know that.”
