My favorite part of Thursday's was after school when I hung out with Angela and Sunshine. They made a huge difference in a lot of my choices. At the moment they were telling me what I should expect with family vacations.
"Danny has brothers, so it's harder to be alone." Sunshine said looking at my bathing suits.
"Ryan's mom is like a crazy snack lady. I'll be mid orgasm and she'll ask if we want brownies." Angela says groaning and throwing herself on Sunshine's bed.
"Asher's an only kid and his parents are chill. But we don't have sex." I said scrutinizing a bikini Sunshine handed me.
"You don't have sex?!" Both girls asked.
"Danny is like a sex shark. We do it 4 times a week." Sunshine frowned.
"Ryan tries to butter my biscuits every chance he gets." Angelaz says.
"Butter your what?" I asked my eyebrows strung together.
"You know, bounce my bubble on his curtain rod." She says looking at Sunshine and I.
"Angela, what the hell are saying?!" Sunshine asked.
"Flap these jacks?" She tried
"Here, ladies and gentlemen, is a girl who has way too much sex." I said laughing.
"I just don't get how he leaves Hayley, give sex to the needy, for a nonprofit organization like yourself." Angela said looking at me. Her hair was now red and though she wouldn't admit it she looked like Ariel.
"Easy. Ultimatum." I said simply.
"You lost us, Junior, speak English." Sunshine said sitting by Angela on the bed.
"You get there and then you stop. Make up some excuse to kill the mood but say maybe next time. Asher's all about bettering his chances so he'll most likely throw in ice cream or whatever to soften me up. He thinks I don't know. But I'm no fool." I said sitting in between both girls. They looked at me impressed.
"Okay girls next problem." Sunshine said seriously standing up. I laid on her bed wrapping a blanket over myself.
"Shoot." Angela said laying the opposite way of me so her feet were in my face.
"Nice, Ang, just lay your feet in my face." I muttered throwing her legs off of me.
"You know you like it. Shut up."
"Slut satchel." I said
"Hoe bag." She retort.
"Both of you shut up." Sunshine said softly her voice traced with laughter.
"Okay, c'mon, go." Angela said antsy.
"Danny's parents don't like me." She said.
"We know, you've been dating since freshman year. I thought you'd know that by now." Angela said
"They aren't letting him go to Brown with me. He has to choose his other top three." She says sadly.
"Did he talk to them?" I asked.
"He says it wouldn't be any use. They are too...headstrong."
"So he hasn't asked them yet?" Angela asks.
"No, not yet." Sunshine muttered.
"Well we are going to." I said pushing Angela off of me and sliding on a pair of Sunshine's shoes.
"What?" The confused blonde asked. Angela slid on a pair of shoes and grabbed a jacket.
"We are going to go talk to his parents. They're all at Asher's house watching a game so there won't be any interference." I said opening the bedroom door and pulling both girls out with me. We piled up in Angie's car and drove to Daniel's house.
The Fitzgerald's were sullen surprised that a group of teenage girls had come to their house to talk. They were sullen and I respected that.
"So why are you here?" Mrs. Fitzgerald asked. She cocked an eyebrow.
"Well, I know you think I'm just some spoiled rich white girl Barbie doll. But I'm-"
"Don't put words in my mouth." Mrs. Fitzgerald said.
"Sorry, I know you don't really like me is what I meant."
"I don't like you. Why should I? You've been teaching my son morals I don't agree with. Getting lost in the woods? No preparation. Do you understand how hard it is to be successful and black?" She asked.
"It doesn't have to be about that." Sunshine said falling back. She wasn't going to stand her ground.
"Everything is about that. Do you see how people look at you and my son? Do you know what they say? My son will not be a victim. He's a survivor."
"I don't care what other people think, I love Danny."
"Love, you people throw it around like change. Love is being there when there's nothing. Not only when there's something." Mrs. Fitzgerald's voice is hard and cold.
"Mrs. Fitzgerald?" I ask.
"Peyton Elizabeth." He acknowledges.
"Do you love Mr. Fitzgerald?" I asked.
"More than myself." She said honestly.
"Is it because he's black?" I asked seriously.
"No, I don't see him that way. I see him as Noah Fitzgerald."
"Sunshine does the same for Daniel. Sunshine sees him as Daniel Fitzgerald. She loves him. She respects him and when the going gets tough, when your husband lost his campaign, she was still there. You've been pushing someone that truly displays the definition of love to your son. To Daniel Fitzgerald." I said. Mrs. Fitzgerald looked at Sunshine and sighed.
"I will talk to Daniel. You all can go." Mrs. Fitzgerald said. We stood up and Mrs. Fitzgerald hugged Sunshine. The embrace was awkward and then warm and loving.
"Thank Sunshine." She said letting her go. We walked outside and Sunshine hugged me tightly.
"Thank you so much, thank you so much, Peyton." She said crying.
"C'mon hippie, you've gotta help me pick out an outfit for tomorrow." I said getting in the car. We drove back to Sunshine's house but not before making three stops at two restaurants and a thrift store. Angela's eyes widened as the used merchandise came into view. The young man watching the cash register smiled widely at us as though we were the youngest people he's seen all day.
"Hey, can I help you ladies find anything?" He asked.
"No, but if you have any good vinyls that'd be pretty rad." Sunshine said smiling at a little china doll.
"No, not at the moment. But there's a sweet guitar around back. I'll bring it up." He said going into a room behind his post. Angela took off her jacket handing it to me. She wrapped a boa around her neck and topped her head with a sun hat.
"You look ridiculous."
"Oh, my, you've caught me off guard." Angela smiled using a posh accent.
"You are so stupid." I muttered looking at the rings. They were rather nice for thrift store rings.
"Here we go, never thought I'd be able to bring this old axe out." The man said handing Angela the guitar. She plucked a few riffs and nodded.
"I'll give you 2 grand." She said.
"Ha, you think your a little conman? Fine, 5 grand." Sunshine looked at Angela and smiled.
"2 grand. That's my offer."
"This is an antique guitar. 1500 battle axe. Rolling Stones didn't even have this."
"3 grand and you throw in the boa and the hat."
"4 grand and I'll throw it all in and a vinyl."
"You have vinyls?" Sunshine asked. The man nodded.
"3 grand and the vinyl."
"2 grand and the vinyl. Final offer." Angela said. The man scratched his neck.
"Fine, fine." He muttered handing me the case and ringing everything up.
"You want anything, junior?" Sunshine asked.
"Do you have Polaroids?" I asked. He picked up an old Polaroid from behind the counter.
"What do you want for it?" I asked.
"Might as well, you girls already robbed me." He chuckled ringing me up. We grabbed our stuff and turned to the door. Angela turned and smiled at the man.
"I would've given you 10 grand right off the bat." She chuckled. The man's face grew red as he realized three high school students just took 8.15K from right under his nose.
After the thrift store everyone went home. Angela dropped me off at home and I was thankful. I was way too tired to sleep over. I honestly hated hearing people breathe while I was sleeping. It irritates me to know end. If I was a murderer many people would be dead. I put my camera up and laid in my bed. For once all week I was relaxed.
It's short but I haven't updated in awhile so here.
