The table was lightened up with talk between the men and a small conversation between Cecilia and Gracie. I sat in between Henry and Asher moving my food from my plate to my mouth. Four pancakes, hash browns, four pieces of bacon and some orange is what I started out with. I had no reservations on eating in front of people. As a politicians daughter growing up there were many dinner parties. The Greene boys on another hand ate like they would never see food again.
"So, Peyton. Where'd you and Asher meet?" Cecilia asked interrupting the boys conversation.
"Hmm? Oh, at school more than anything." I mumbled sighing as all the attention was on me. I didn't want to mess up.
"Oh, and are you graduating this year too?" She asked munching on some fruit.
"No." I said drinking my orange juice.
"So, what're you two going to do when Asher goes off to college?"
"Cry and eat ice cream. Like a regular teenage girl." I mumble. Asher didn't find my joke very amusing. I could tell by the way his frown grew more prominent during the conversation.
"I meant with your relationship."
"I don't know."
"What did your parents say?" I really wished she would have brung up my parents. There was much I didn't need them to know about. Things I didn't need Asher to know about.
"They're great, very supportive." I said honestly. They were supportive. They wanted me to be with Asher.
"Do you have any siblings?" Cecilia asked.
"Uh, sort of." I shrugged not sure on how to respond to this.
"How do you sort of have siblings?"
"Cecilia drop it." Henry hissed looking at Asher.
"It's okay, I was adopted. So I have foster siblings. But my birth father got married and had a child. My sister, Quinn, she ran away. And my foster brother, Ethan, he moved in with his birth family." I muttered.
"And the other kid?"
"Jasper? Oh he's technically my brother. We have the same dad." I muttered.
"So you don't have any real siblings?" Cecilia asked.
"What's a real sibling?" I asked. I had to watch myself. Asher's family was perfect. I wasn't.
"Blood, everything else doesn't matter. Sure they're nice friends. But they aren't related to you." Cecilia chuckles.
"Peyton, I think I may have left something of ours in the trunk. Can I get a hand?" Gracie asks standing up. I nodded and stood up walking behind Gracie. We sat in the back of the trunk and sighed heavily.
"Are you okay, sweetie?" Gracie asks softly.
"No, but I will be." I sighed.
"This family is overwhelming. I can promise you that." She said holding my hand and squeezing it tightly.
"Hmm. I wish I could say I'm not scared. You guys are amazing." I muttered.
"Just be yourself. If they don't like who you are then that's on them. I swear these boys are the most shallow people I know. Asher and Henry not as much. They see the beauty in everything. Aric he can turn anything into beauty. Phillip is too hurt to care about beauty but they're all shallow in their own way." She said softly.
"Ugh, I need to go back in there and answer Cecelia's interrogation." I groaned.
"Is everything alright?" Asher asked. Henry was in tow probably happy to have finally gotten away from Cecilia.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I smiled sitting up and hanging my feet on the outside of the car.
"I'm sorry, Cecilia has no filter." Asher apologized wrapping his arm around my waist.
"It's okay, I know what she means. I'd probably say the same thing in her position." I lied. I'd hold my fucking tongue and keep it pushing.
"Well, everyone's about done and we need to go get unpacked. Grant said we could leave now and that he'd drive with Henry." Asher said staring into my eyes.
"Asher, I'll be fine. I promise." I said holding his face up to my own.
"I don't want you to be sad at all while we're here."
"I'm not sad Asher." I smiled softly. He leaned in pressing his lips to mine and pulling back just as quickly.
"We are going to the cabin." Asher said pulling me out of the trunk and into the front seat. Gracie smiled and waved walking inside with Henry. Asher drove determinedly to the cabin. I liked the way his eyebrows would move as he read signs and listened to traffic.
"You look super hot all concentrated." I smiled.
"Trust, me. I'll show you hot when we stop." Asher smirks at me.
"Well." I mumbled biting my lip softly.
"Maybe then you'll be happy."
"I can imagine I'd be happy." I chuckled twirling my thumbs around one another. Asher's hand was on my thigh. Moving slowly up and down teasingly. Damn. My mind went into automatic mode with my thoughts. Fantasizing about Asher. Asher on top of me. Asher underneath me. Asher inside me. It was a mirage of equally naughty thoughts making a mural on the walls of my brain.
Naughty. God damn I've been hanging out with Angela and Sunshine way too much.
"Well, Henry likes you." Asher says smiling.
"He's cool. What's up with him and Cecilia."
"He thinks she doesn't really love Philip."
"That's not my place to say. She may love differently."
"Like Charlotte." I sighed feeling an overwhelming sense of guilt.
"Charlotte?" Asher asks.
"Noel's wife. He was explaining to me the way she loves him. She loves him through herself."
"She shows her love for him through her narcissistic overpowering love for herself." I sighed.
"You think Cecilia is the same?"
"No, I think it's backgrounds are similar. They're obviously not the same." I mumbled. Asher shrugged grunting and continuing to drive. The car soon meant uneven and rocky terrain shaking it side to side as it maneuvered over the gravel and rocks. We past many cabins each one huge and luxurious. My voice fell into my stomach swimming around trying to find its way back.
"These are so beautiful." I smiled looking at the castle like structures.
"I'm happy you like them." Asher smiled holding my hand. We drove into an opening the road becoming considerably smoother. It was a pebble stone path. On each side was a barrier of bushes that alike the Greene's house were strewn with the most intricate of flowers. My breath caught as the cabin came into view. I was half wooden and half class. The windows took up at most one wall in each room. The double doors were glass also with cobble some handles. Vines grew along and around the house giving its woodsy twist. There were two floors. The top floor had a large balcony that had a circling staircase down to the patio/porch.
"Are we going to sit here and look at it or are we going inside?" Asher asked smiling at me.
"I'm taking it all in. You know? Being here, being your girlfriend, the house, your family." I said.
"What'd you say?"
"Your family." I muttered.
"The house. I said I liked the house." I said sliding out of the car. Asher did the same coming to trap me. His hands were on my waist and his eyes watched my own playfully.
"Did you say you were my girlfriend?" I asked smirking.
"I might have." I smirked looking down. Asher dipped his head down catching my lips in his and gently lifting my head up to look at him. He pulled away and smiled.
"I think I'm going to like this." He smirked. He went to the trunk and pulled out our bags. He closed the trunk sitting the bags by the car.
"C'mon, girlfriend. Into the cabin." He smiles holding his hand out and opening the door. I walked into the huge cabin smiling at the marble floors and spiraled staircase that if climbed made it upstairs. Asher took two bags at a time up. In all it was three trips. Let the vacation begin.
Asher groaned as yet another grape missed is mouth. I chuckled sitting up more and throwing another one up in the air. Asher and I had changed since we didn't plan on leaving anytime soon. At least I hadn't. I was in sports shorts and a teeshirt with Asher's jacket on.
"Catch it with your mouth!" I shouted throwing another grape at him.
"Oh, really? I thought you hitting me in the face with rounded fruit was the game." He chuckled.
"Rounded fruit?" I asked chuckling.
"Yes, rounded fruit." He said throwing a grape at me. I skillfully caught it and held it in between my teeth showing him. I ate it and he threw another. I caught that one and this game went on until all the grapes were gone.
"That's how you play, grape game." I said putting the bowl on the nightstand by our bed. Cohabitation was never a thing I really worried about. But with Asher I was afraid. Afraid I'd be awkward and disgusting.
I'm the only one who has seen me wake up.
"What are you thinking about?" He asks running his fingers up and down my thigh.
"What if I snore? What I talk in my sleep? What if I'm just a totally gross human being?"
"Ha, um I don't know. Let me go to sleep first. That'd probably be the only answer." He snickered.
"Really Asher? Thanks for making me feel so sexy." I said moving to stand over him. He sat up wrapping his hands around the back of my knees and pulled me back down.
"If you want I could really make you feel sexy." He whispered in my ear. My stomach turned and I swallowed sighing.
"We're home!" We heard Gracie shout.
"But right now, we need to go hang with the family." He said kissing me. I rolled off the bed landing on my feet. Asher took off his shirt I gasped as I saw some ink low on his waist.
"You have a tattoo?" I asked climbing over the bed and holding his waist in my hands. My fingers tugged back his boxer to see the black writing.
"It's in German." He said.
"What does it say?" I ask running my fingers on the words.
"Feiglinge sind nur Menschen, die versuchen gescheitert , andere zu beeindrucken."
"Cowards are just people who failed trying to impress others." He smiled.
"Is that the only one?" I asked running my hands around his waist.
"No, Ryan took me to get another one when I first moved here." He said. He started unbuttoning his pants and I held his hand.
"Not really that interested in where it is." I said looking down.
"It's on my calf."
"That's such a girly place to have a tattoo."
"It's an owl." He said showing me his calf muscle. A small owl sat on the bump.
"You're so girly, Asher." I snickered throwing his shirt at his face.
"Insert offensive mother joke."
"Retort with witty banter."
"Turn banter into that's what she/he said joke."
"Compare penis size to unimaginably minuscule object."
"Insert another random mother joke."
"Your mom." I chuckled
"Hey! That wasn't apart of the script." He mumbles fixing his clothes. We walked out of the room and I stopped.
"I want to get a tattoo." I said holding him back.
"Of what?" He asked his mouth twitching into a smile.
"I don't know... But I want to do it here. I don't know anybody in little Indiana that'll ink me up." I said.
"Ask your parents."
"No, take me to go get a tattoo."
"Please?" I asked pulling him close to me. Seduce him into giving me what I want? Plan B.
"Are you trying to seduce me?"
"Is it working?"
"Kind of, yeah." He smirked kissing me.
"No ink, no lips." I said.
"Okay" He said
"Okay, I can get the tattoo?"
"No, I'm not giving you a tattoo."
"Well, fine. I'll get one myself." I said walking downstairs to the rest of his family.
"Why?" I asked the person I'd assumed would get me through the door. Literally.
"See this is the problem with women. You hang out with them for a few hours and before you know it they're asking you to smuggle them into a tattoo shop."
"C'mon. I'm totally mature enough. I was just accidentally born a year or two too late." I said trying to get myself through.
"What did Asher say?"
"If he had said yes I wouldn't be asking you." I said. Henry ran his hand through his hair and sighed.
"Fine, tomorrow afternoon." Henry said strictly.
"Thank you! Thank you so much." I smiled walking up the stairs. Asher was on the bed scrolling through his phone. I took out the braid Gracie had made earlier and fell on to the bed scooting up towards where Asher's head was.
"Hello, gorgeous." He smiled.
"Ash." I said.
"Why am I the first?" I asked.
"The first what?"
"Girl that has met your parents? I don't understand."
"I don't know. Would you like to be something else?"
"I just. I don't see why you spent your time on flings when you are capable of having something real."I said. Asher put his phone down and turned so he was facing me.
"I want to have something real with someone who is real." He muttered.
"And you, Peyton Elizabeth, are real." He smiled kissing my shoulder. I kissed him in return moving my hands under his shirt and pulling it over his head. Asher groaned as I straddled his waist. I pulled my shirt up and over my head dipping my head into the crook of his neck kissing his collarbone and nipping at the soft skin. Asher's moans vibrated in his chest as his hands pulled my shorts off discarding them and allowing his own to take residence beside mine on the floor. I rolled off of his body laying on my back. Asher's lips trailed from my neck to my chest. I was just about to allow him my entire body when he stopped.
"Sorry, I know you can't disregard your rules. But I can promise that some point while we are here I will properly make you mine." He smiled handing me his shirt. Breathlessly I accepted nodding. Yeah, no objections to Asher putting it down.
"But until then, I fully respect your rules." He smiled. I laid down and sighed.
