Cute Little Baker Boy
I walked into the bakery at 10:02, close to perfectly on time. Right when I walked in I saw a cute boy, my age, standing behind the counter and holding an apron, examining it as if to figure it out like it was a puzzle.
That must he Harry, I thought, He's kinda cu–no Violet you have Davis stop it!
"Hi, I'm Violet," I said, breaking the silence.
He looked up at me and smiled, dimples evident. "I'm Harry," He said. "Melanie isn't h-here yet."
I smiled at his stutter of words, walking over to the counter. "What can I do to help?" I ask.
"U-uh, well, you can help make the Monday morning m-muffins," He said. "We make them every Monday morning."
"Is there a certain recipe I need to follow?" I ask.
He nodded. "Here, I-I'll show y-you," He motioned me with his hand behind the counter and to the kitchen. He flipped through a cookbook until he stopped on one page and handed it to me. "You can m-make any of these in this c-category and I'll make t-the rest if you want."
I shook my head, "How about we split the work? I work fast anyways."
He nodded. "Which ones would you like to make?"
I shrugged, "I guess I'll make banana, chocolate chip, and corn."
"O-okay," He said, taking out the other three pages, "I'll d-do these."
I started to get the ingredients out before realized something. "Do you have an extra apron for me?" I asked.
"Sorry," He blushed before grabbing a hold of two aprons. He started to walk to me but I giggled.
"You can just toss it to me. I may be a girl but I can catch," I joked.
He laughed slightly, "And I may be a boy but I can't throw."
I laughed as he placed the white apron in my hands. I placed my head through the hoop and tied the other two strings behind my waist. Finally, I started making the banana muffins before I saw in the corner of my eye, Harry struggling with tying the back knot. I giggled, "You need some help with that?"
He nodded sheepishly and I walked over to him, gently taking the two strings and tying them in a pretty bow. "Thanks," He almost whispered out as I walked back to my station.
