Breaking Game

A young Avatar with the User name: FlyingCandy12 breaks out from her video game coding on a quest to escape to the real world.

5. Glitch

I was woken a few hours later by the sounds of partying in the village square. Every full moon they celebrated all the new Players and avatars, victory's and level ups. It was at one of these celebrations that I had met one of my good friends and mentor, Velex. She was rich and smart. She was one of the oldest avatars there are and was very wise about the game.

I got up out of the bed and moved over to the inn window. Below I saw them all celebrating happily. I saw Velex down below talking with a few members of her guild. I was dyeing to talk to her, maybe she would know something about what had happened earlier.

So I rushed to get my everyday wear on and ran down the stairs. The sound of the fiddles, drums and other instruments grew louder the closer I got to the entrance. I was soon to reach the door pushing it open and rushing out into the street. Scanning the large group of avatars in search on Velex.

I finally spotted her and her guild talking. I walked over to her pushing myself through the crowd. As she saw me approaching she waved to me, "Oh hello FC12!" I called out a hello in return as I finally stood in front of her. Her strawberry hair was in a braid today, her guild stood a few feet away consisted of mostly men and only one other girl. "So FC12 how have you been? I herd your Player is going to be fighting in the stadium next week! Cngrats!" I smiled up at her she was always so supportive. "I need your help with something" I began working out what I would say to Velex in my mind. "What with?"

"Well, today on my way back to the inn my Player lost control of me. Shortly after I herd a voice in my head insult my Player. I don't remember what it excually said, but it was offensive!"

Velex's eyes grew wide, she muttered something under her breath turning away from me. "The Glitch, it's back." Her eyes burned brightly into mine as she said this. "What you saw was the Glitch. A thing of pure evil that only wishes to destroy our game. If what you saw is really the glitch we better prepare for the worse." Her voice sounded so stern it sent a chill down my spin.
