“Attention ladies and gentle-dudes,” Justin had taken over the DJ booth at Club Rare and swore to Krystal that he was going to do his best to embarrass Aaron on his 31st birthday, “If you didn't know, my name is Justin Bieber,” The occupants of the club screamed wildly, “And I'm here tonight to celebrate my fiance's best friend's birthday,” He paused and found Aaron's eyes in the crowd, “Bro, you've quickly become one of my good friends in the time we've known each other and I love how much you love my future wife. I know that no matter what happens, when she's in your presence, you'll protect her as well, if not better than I ever could and you've been doing so for the last 12 and a half years. Thank you for loving her the way she loves you and I'm looking forward to us having many 'Bro days' in the future. Happy 31st Birthday, Aaron Carter,” He dropped Aaron's gaze and looked around at the crowds of single females and hungry males, “Make sure y'all buy him a drink if you get a chance.” He hopped down out of the DJ booth and made his way back to the VIP area and joined their table. Aaron shook his head in disbelief, trying to hide the blush in his cheeks as Krystal and Courtney laughed hysterically.
“Was this your idea, Biff?” Aaron gave Krystal an accusatory look.
“Of course,” She continued to laugh for a moment before she grew serious, “Although, I didn't plan out what he was gonna say,” She grabbed Justin's hand and leaned over, giving him a kiss on his cheek, “That was really sweet, Baby. Thank you. I love you.”
Justin shrugged, “Just being honest. I love you too.”
“I appreciate the words, Bro,” Aaron looked at Justin, “But if you ever do that to me again, I'll kill ya.” They shared a laugh and continued on with their evening. As Justin had requested, Aaron continued to get drink after drink sent to him from the bar and other free drinks were flowing as well. Krystal watched as the other three people in her party continued to get more drunk as time went on. Aaron was nearly passing out on the table by the time they decided to leave. Krystal, being the only one able to walk a straight line, threw Aaron's arm around her shoulders and lead him out of the club, Courtney and Justin stumbling behind them. She finally got them all in the car and headed towards their homes.
“If anyone is gonna puke, let me know so I can pull over. I'm not cleaning anyone's vomit out of my car tomorrow,” Krystal warned as she drove, noticing Justin had his face pressed up against the glass of the window on the passenger's side.
“Um not gonna puke, Baby,” Justin's words were so slurred they were barely recognizable.
“Mmmhmmm,” She shook her head in disbelief.
“Dun be mad at me, Babe,” He moved to rest his head on her shoulder, “I'm sorry I'm so wasted. I love you.”
“I love you too, Jay,” She sighed.
“How much longer 'til we get home?” Courtney leaned up into the front seat, the scent of liquor on her breath filling the car.
“5 minutes,” Krystal responded.
“Ohhh Kayyy,” Courtney flung herself back against the seat. Silence hung heavily in the air for the rest of the ride. Krystal pulled her car into the driveway and turned it off.
“We're home,” She called to the other occupants of the car, “Courtney, can you get him into the house?” She was referring to Aaron.
“Yep! I got this,” The twang in Courtney's country accent was laced with slur and a lot more evident now that she was drunk. She stumbled out of her side of the car and made her way around to open Aaron's door. She pulled him out and they walked a crooked line to their home. Krystal and Justin got out of the front and headed inside.
“I'll get you some water and some ibuprofen,” She stated, “You go upstairs and lye down.”
“You're gonna come up, right?” He asked, wrapping his arms around her from behind, “I want you,” he lowered his voice, whispering into her ear.
“I'll be up in a minute,” She sighed, “But you're too drunk to do anything. Just go lay down.”
“No, I'm not,” He said in a sing-song voice. She didn't respond. She just pulled out of his arms and went to the fridge, grabbing him a bottle of water and grabbing some ibuprofen out of the cupboard beside the fridge. She made her way back to him, handing him the medicine and opening the bottle of water for him to take a drink and wash them down. He held the bottle of water for a moment, staring deeply into her eyes.
“Let's go to bed,” She finally stated, breaking the gaze and moving towards the stairway. He followed, grabbing her ass with both of his hands as they walked up the stairs. She did her best to ignore him and keep moving. They reached her room and entered, him immediately shutting the door behind them as he grabbed her wrist and pulled her to him.
“I love you so fucking much,” He breathed, wrapping his arms tight around her, “I want you in a way I've never wanted anyone. I always thought I'd be starting a family with Selena and marrying her cause I really did love her a lot, but the love I had for her never came close to what I feel for you, Baby. I didn't think it was possible to feel this way about any human being in the world. Ever.”
“Justin, you're drunk,” She frowned and tried to pull out of his grasp.
“That doesn't mean what I'm saying isn't true,” He frowned as well, staring down at her, “You don't love me, do you?”
“What?” She gave him an exasperated look, “Seriously? Come on, Jay. You're drunk. You know I love you.”
“I don't,” He spoke up, “You've given me the ring back twice and both times I had to beg you to be with me. What's wrong with me that makes you not wanna be with me? Why don't you want me? Is it cause I'm young? Don't I make you happy? What is it?”
“OMG,” She shook her head in disbelief and let out a deep breath, “I don't know why you're saying all of this, Justin. I love you. I love you so incredibly much that it's hard to breathe sometimes and there is not one other person on this planet that I wanna spend the rest of my life with. I want you more than I have ever wanted any person I've ever come across and I'm sorry if I'm not showing you that. I'm not clingy and I'm just sincerely emotionally damaged, but that doesn't mean that I don't feel it. I just suck at showing it. I really, really try with you. I try to let you in and I try to show you the love you deserve, but it's not easy for me to do that. I don't know what to tell you if I'm not giving you what you need, because I don't know how to be any other way.” By the time she finished her speech, tears were streaming down her cheeks against her will.
“Please don't cry, Baby, I'm so sorry,” He pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly, “I didn't mean to make you cry. I'm so sorry. I-I didn't mean what I said. I'm just drunk.”
She pulled out of his arms, “Drunk words are sober thoughts,” She said softly, “Let's just go to bed.” He didn't say a word as he stripped down to his boxers, tossing his phone onto the nightstand and watching as Krystal threw on her pajamas. They both crawled under the covers and he immediately pulled her into his arms.
“I love you, Baby,” He whispered, “I'm sorry.”
“I'm sorry too,” She sighed, “I love you, Jay. I really do.”
He leaned up and kissed her cheek as he spooned her from behind, “I know, Baby. I know.”
