Justin punched the wall in the waiting room and slammed his body against it before sliding to the floor. He had tears streaming down his face as he thought about what was happening at that moment. Krystal had been shot and he had no idea if she was okay or if she was even going to make it. They'd informed him the minute he carried her in that he would have to wait in the waiting room while they worked on her. He'd immediately called Aaron and told him what happened and now him, Aaron and Courtney were waiting to hear how badly Krystal was injured. The guilt wracked his body as he thought about who would've shot her. He knew that the bullet was meant for him and he hated himself for ever bringing her into this lifestyle.
“I swear, if she doesn't make it, I'll lose it,” Justin whispered, just loud enough for Aaron and Courtney to hear.
“Do you have any idea who it was?” Courtney asked.
“No,” Justin shook his head, “I'm assuming they were aiming for me though and this entire situation is my fault. I hate myself.”
“Don't blame yourself, Justin,” Courtney got up and made her way over towards him, sitting down in the chair that was next to the wall he was leaning against, “Everything happens for a reason. We'll just have to make sure you have more security in the future.”
“What if she doesn't make it?” Justin looked up at Courtney, his eyes bloodshot as the tears continued to flow.
“We can't think like that,” Courtney frowned, “She's gonna be fine. We need to send all the positive vibes that we can.”
At that moment, a doctor walked into the room, “Mr. Bieber?”
“Yeah,” Justin stood up immediately and Aaron and Courtney followed, “Is she okay? Please tell me she's gonna be okay.”
“Krystal's gonna be fine,” The doctor offered a small smile, “The bullet went completely through. It did pierce her large intestine, so we had to remove part of that, but I expect there to be no further complications. She's currently resting in recovery and should be back in her room in about 45 minutes.”
“Thank you, Doctor,” Courtney stated as the Doctor left the room. Justin slumped to the floor again, tears of relief flowing down his cheeks.
“Thank you, God,” He looked up to the ceiling, praying. He didn't know what he would've done if he lost her and he decided in that moment that he was going to find whoever did this to her and kill him.
“You okay, Babe?” Courtney looked at Aaron, noticing that he hadn't spoke for the last hour.
“Yeah,” Aaron nodded, “Just worried.”
“Well, the doctor says she's gonna be fine. All we can do now is pray for a speedy recovery.”
Justin sat by her bed, staring at her breathing and holding tightly onto her hand with both of his own. The rhythmic beeping of the machines that she was hooked up to was almost deafening to him. She hadn't woken up yet and to say he was worried, would be an understatement. It had only been a few hours, but he couldn't stop the tears from streaming down his face as he stared at her almost lifeless body. He knew that this was his fault and he knew that as much as he wanted to shy away from that lifestyle, he was going to have to do something drastic to show people who they were messing with. He knew that he'd never be able to have a life with her if things continued this way. He had to make sure that whoever had the balls to do this and every other gang in their path, was taught a lesson. They needed to fear him again. He'd been entirely too soft the last year and he knew that they thought they could get to him. He clenched his jaw as he decided right then that he was going to kill them all. Every single person who ever thought they could get to Justin Bieber was going to lye dead in his path.
“Has she woken up yet?” Courtney asked as she and Aaron entered the room. They'd excused themselves a little while earlier to grab some food, promising to bring something back for Justin.
“Not yet,” Justin let out a deep sigh, “The doctor said it can sometimes take up to 24 hours to completely get the anesthetic out of her system, but he thinks she'll wake up soon.”
“Here,” Aaron handed him the bag of McDonald's that they'd retrieved for him, “What are you gonna do about this?” He wasn't happy that his best friend was laying lifeless in a hospital bed after having been shot. As much as he tried not to, deep down he knew he blamed Justin for this and he was trying his best to keep his cool. The last thing Krystal needed was him and Justin at each other's throats.
Justin let out a sigh, knowing that he wasn't the only one blaming himself for this, “What do you want me to say to you, Aaron? That you were right?”
“Well, here we are,” Aaron responded, using his hands to exaggerate his point, “In my best friend's hospital room because she just was shot and had major surgery due to her injuries. So, yeah, I think me being right pretty much covers it.”
“This is never going to happen again,” Justin defended.
“Oh, really. And how do you suppose you're going to stop it?” Aaron crossed his arms and gave Justin a stern, angry look.
“I'm going to kill them all,” Justin spoke through gritted teeth. His jaw clenching and unclenching. Aaron and Courtney were both taken aback by this confession, but neither said anything for a few moments as they all three stared towards Krystal. It seemed like hours as they all three willed her to awaken and none of them spoke, when in reality it was only about 20 minutes.
“I'm glad the two of you shut up,” Krystal mumbled, her eyes opening slowly as she flinched from the pain as she tried to sit up, “I thought I was gonna have to wake up and open a can of whoop-ass on you both.”
Justin immediately stood and pulled her into a hug as the other 3 occupants of the room chuckled, “I was so worried, Baby.”
“I'm fine,” She frowned, hugging him back, “When can I get outta here? I hate hospitals.”
“The doctor's gonna be coming back in to check on you soon,” Justin responded, “We can ask him them.”
“I'd really like some pain killers, too,” She spoke, noting the shooting pain in her abdomen, “This shit's a little painful.”
“I'm really glad you're okay, Biff,” Aaron made his way to the other side of her bed and sat down in the chair, staring up at his best friend.
“I'll be fine,” She forced a smile, “A lil' gunshot never killed nobody.”
“Yeah, right,” Aaron laughed, deciding now wasn't the time to give her a lecture.
Courtney stood and headed towards the door, “I'll go grab the nurse so she can get you some pain killers.”
