“Could this day GET any worse?” Krystal exclaimed angrily as she dropped her grocery bags after having literally ran into a solid body, “Sorry.” She mumbled, not looking up as she knelt down to pick up her things.
“It's cool,” The male figure that she'd run into kneeled down to help her pick up her groceries, “Bad day?” He asked, trying to get a look at her face that was hidden behind her long, platinum-blond locks.
“You could say that,” She let out a sigh and flipped her hair out of her face, slowly coming to a standing position as she picked up the last of her things, “Thanks.”
“No problem,” He couldn't stop the smile that crossed his features as he stood up and got a good look at her face, “I'm Justin,” He introduced, consciously taking note of her beauty.
She finally met his gaze and her breathing caught in her throat for a moment before she quickly recovered, “Krystal.” She offered. He smirked, noting her small pause as she recognized him.
“You look like a Krystal,” He flirted.
“What's that supposed to mean?” She cocked an eyebrow at him.
He shrugged, “Beautiful name for a beautiful girl.”
She smirked, trying to hide the blush in her cheeks, “While I do appreciate the compliment, I'm no spring chicken. I haven't been just a girl for many years.”
“Woman, then,” He corrected with a smile, nodding his head towards her, “You're a very beautiful woman.”
“Thank you,” She tried to stop her smile, but it didn't work, “I should probably be going.” She reached forward, attempting to grab the items of hers that Justin was still clinging to.
“Awe, do you have to? I can't take you for a cup of coffee while you tell me about your horrible day?” He flashed her his signature grin.
“Unbelievable,” She shook her head and let a small laugh, looking up towards the sky before meeting his light brown eyes again, “Listen, Justin, I'm sure this doesn't happen to you very often, if ever, but I'm sincerely not your type. Not only that, I'm old. Way too old to be having coffee, let alone a conversation with Justin Bieber.”
“You can't be a day over 23,” He held her gaze, reaching up to caress her silky cheek, “And I don't have a type. I'm attracted to who I'm attracted to.” He shrugged again.
“You're about 9 years off, Boo,” She smirked at him, “And I'm definitely not the type of woman you should be attracted to. However, I am very flattered and this will be the highlight of my day. I must be going though. Thank you for the offer of coffee and for helping me pick up my stuff.”
“Can I at least get your number?” He pleaded, frowning at himself when he realized he was almost begging. He was Justin Bieber. He never begged a girl for anything, but this woman was different and he knew it the minute their eyes met.
“Sure,” She chuckled, knowing he would never call anyway. She waited until he'd pulled his phone out of his pocket, ready to enter her number, “608-555-6548” She stated as he typed it in, “Krystal, with a 'K'.”
“608? Where's that?” Justin wondered, having never heard of that area-code before.
“Wisconsin,” She chuckled, “I just moved down here with a friend.”
“Okay, Krystal with a 'K',” He smirked at her, “I'm gonna call you and we're gonna go out for that coffee.”
“Yeah, okay,” She gave him a skeptical look, cocking an eyebrow as the sarcasm dripped from her voice.
“You'll be surprised when I actually call then,” He gave her a sexy smirk and shrugged his shoulders before leaning down to place a kiss on her cheek.
“Have a good one, Justin,” She chuckled. Shutting the back door to her vehicle, she opened the driver's door and glanced back at him, where he offered a wink as he walked backwards towards his car. She shook her head in disbelief and got into her car. Shutting the door and starting it with the key. She pulled out of the parking lot and made the 7 minute trip back to her new home.
“So,” Krystal threw the bags on her kitchen counter as she met Aaron's gaze, “You will never believe what just happened to me.”
“What?” He gave her a confused look.
“I literally run into someone as I'm trying to get to the car to put the groceries away to come home and I spill everything,” She was putting the groceries away as she spoke, “Anyway, the interesting part is the person I ran into leans down to help me pick it all up and I come face to face with Justin Bieber. Who then, proceeded to ask me out for coffee, call me beautiful and ask for my number.”
Aaron's jaw hung open in shock as she finished her story, “Why didn't you go?” He asked, “You've had a thing for him forever.”
“I did not go because I am old, I am not as skinny as Justin usually likes them and I'm pretty sure he's just a giant douchebag who was only flirting and has no intention of ever seeing me again. Therefore, I have no desire to get to know him,” She explained.
“How do you know he's not actually gonna call?” Aaron wondered, cocking an eyebrow at her, “I mean, you're beautiful and you have an amazing personality, Biff. He'd be crazy not to want to get to know you.”
“He's Justin Bieber, Aar. With the females that throw themselves at him on a daily basis? He'd never truly be interested in an old woman,” She shook her head, offering him a smile, “Plus, he's 9 years younger than me and we already know how me dating younger men turns out.” As if on cue, her cell phone started ringing with a number she didn't recognize and her breath caught in her throat.
“Well! Answer it!” Aaron pushed it towards her and watched as she answered the call and brought it to her ear.
“Hello?” She was trying to not let the butterflies in her stomach make her vomit.
“Hey, Beautiful. It's Justin,” She could hear the smile in his voice.
“What can I do for you, Justin?” She asked, getting herself together and leaning her elbows on the counter as she spoke. Aaron leaned closer to hear the full conversation.
“Are you busy tonight?” Justin questioned.
“Ummm, well,” Aaron met her gaze, noticing her hesitation.
“No, she's not,” He spoke for her, loud enough for him to hear.
“Who's that?” Justin asked with a laugh as Krystal's cheeks began to get hot.
“My annoying best friend, Aaron,” She rolled her eyes, “Anyway, no, I'm not busy tonight. Why?”
“Will you go to dinner with me tonight then?” He was thankful that the nerves he was feeling weren't effecting his voice at all.
“I, uh, I suppose I could,” She responded nervously, feeling the butterflies flutter in her stomach.
“Great,” He was smiling again, “So, I'll pick you up around 7pm then. Text me your address. This is my number.”
“Okay, I can do that. Just so you don't get confused, I live in a double condo and mine is on the right. So, when I text you the address, you'll come to the right door,” She rambled.
“Got it.” He let out a small chuckle, suspecting she was just as nervous as he was.
“Great. I'll see you at 7 then.”
“I'll be there, beautiful. See you soon,” He ended the call before she could say goodbye. She made sure the call had ended before tossing her phone on the counter and having a mini-freak out, causing Aaron to laugh at her.
“I feel like a freak,” She stopped her freak out, “I haven't had one of those moments in a long time.”
He chuckled, “This could actually work out for both of us, you know.”
“I am highly aware,” She picked up her phone and texted Justin her address, “You gotta be here to answer the door. Maybe y'all can have a bromance and he'll wanna collab with you before I go out with him and make him realize I'm not his type.”
“Don't say that,” He laughed, “He's gonna love you. Especially once he finds out how awesome you are. I wouldn't have been friends with you for the last 12 years if you weren't amazing.”
“I'm glad you have faith in me,” She chuckled, “I suppose I should start the grueling process of getting ready,” She sighed, noting that it was already 5pm.
