Next day at school, we were sitting around our usual lunch table, but today without Harry, he was at the doctor's. I could tell that the girls didn't like him as much as I do, but they still tolerated him.
"Hey, you wanna know what I heard people talking about today?" Kim says, excitedly.
"What?" me and Christina say i unison.
"The Winter Formal," Kim shrieked loudly, making me instantly pull my hands up to cover my ears.
"The Winter Formal?" Christina had a puzzled look on her face. She's new so she doesn't what it is. "What's that?"
"It's a dance, that's held in winter." Kim answered. "Just like prom, basically."
I started thinking about who might ask me. I couldn't really think of anyone that would want to bring me to the dance. Suddenly the bell rang and I got pulled out of my thoughts. I gathered all of my things and left to go to my next class, English. I liked English, it was fun.
After school we wen't to the cafe, and after that went to my house.
"I can't wait for the dance!" Christina exclaimed. She's new, but she's hot, and has got a great personality, so she already had a boyfriend to take her. She doesn't have to worry.
"I'm not sure if I'm gonna go, I mean look at me, no boy would ever ask me out". Kim was insecure, even though she was really pretty. She also had health problems; she faints once in a while, lots of panick attacks, and she can get upset or sad really easily, but other than that, I don't see a reason why guys wouln't ask her out. She's a great person!
"Don't say that! It's not true! Of course some one will ask you, I know it! You are a great person, and even if you don't get a date, we can still go together!" I tried cheering her up, and I think it worked, because an apolegetic smile, drifted across her face.
"Thanks. I know I can be really annoying and insecure. I love you guys!"
"We love you too!"
Well, I was right about someone asking her out, because the next day, Gabriele, the guy that she had this flirt going on with, came up to her and asked her to the dance. Now that just leaves me.
Day's passed and I had gotten invited to the formal twice, but both guys were creepy and not my type. At all. The bell rang for lunch and I gathered my things and left class. Walking down the halls, that were now filling up with hungry people, I spotted Harry. He looked nervous, so I just suspected that he had a test coming up.
"Harry!" I call while running after him. He turns to look at me, and he smiles a shy smile, as I approach him.
"You alright, Harry?"
Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" He looks nervous.
"No reason, just..."I drifted off. "Well lets go eat, I'm starving!"
"Yeah, me too," he said, his voice skaking a little. We made our way to the cafeteria, and instantly spotted Christina and Kim, so we walked over to them.
"Hi," they said in unison, making them both turn their heads to each other and laughing a little.
"Uhm, Demi, can I talk to you for a second?" He looked at me, his facial expression showing that he was shy. I nodded my head slowly, interested in what he was about to say next. We just stand there for a few moments, him turning a little to the side, about to walk away.
"Alone?" His voice was almost a whisper.
"Oh yeah, sure." I nodded and mentally slapped myself. I followed him to the other side of the courtyard, in an empty corner, vaguely intruiged about what was so important to tell me, that we had to be alone.
"D-do you h-have a d-date to the Winter F-formal?" He asked stuttering. I was surprised, what might he be talking about? Was he going to ask me... to the dance?
"No, why do you ask?" I say, wondering out loud.
"I was w-wondering if m-maybe you would w-want to go with m-me to the d-dance?" A small smile grew on my lips.
"Yes," He looked surprised, but a smile was smeared across his face.
"C-cool," he exclaimed.
"Cool," I repeated. "Lets go eat, shall we?" he nodded and we made our way back to our table. I can't wait.
