30. EPILOGUE -written 12/01/15

The trees whisper around you, hushed secrets and fortunes. They they send a dizzying gust of wind around you, leaves fly up  to block your view annoyingly and the roots seem to reach up and out, following you with no more than a slither like snakes.  A low hum suddenly comes from deeper in the woods around you. It gets louder and louder.  You freeze as it happens again, scared , and this time, the words, low and nearly incoherent, hit your ears. The words send you shaking and your beat speeds up frantically. Your eyes widen and you look around at the impossibly dark midnight colored purple-blue-black sky, and it's almost like it wraps you up in a blanket of safety. The trees have told you your future. Only the sky is comforting, along with the being next to you who feels the same. They only thing you have left.

Suddenly a large crashing sound happens, and the the world goes still. Then you hear a painful 'whack'.  You look down, and through the middle of your chest, where your heart would be. A bloody root sticks out. Your last calm thought is that you have been impaled. You feel no pain from shock until an owl hoots behind you.  The pain erupts from your torso and you fall to your knees: the world goes dark.
