Ella woke up the next morning, alone in her room and for once, she was upset. Usually, mornings were hectic and she absolutely hated then but today, she just felt alone. She quickly dressed for school, went down stairs and found Elizabeth sitting at the table, reading a newspaper and eating a slice of cake in a mug. When Ella asked her why, Elizabeth simply stated,

"Its the morning. Everything deserves to be in a mug." Ella couldn't deny that. She cut herself a generous slice and devoured it quickly as she boiled some water and prepared a travel cup with a mint tea bag in it. Ella tried to get the original murder cake frosting out of her head but they were soon replaced with the newspaper article. She bit her lip and slipped her hand into her jean pocket. She pulled the pen she always kept in her jacket pocked out and wrote on her hand: TALK TO EZRAH, then so she wouldn't forget who (STONE).

Ella heard a loud motor noise and rushed out the front door and onto the awaiting school bus, that wasn't really needed since everything was reasonable walking distance but was mostly there for time convenience. She sat next to this boy in her class and looked down at her hands as they rode in silence to school. Usually she would sit with Vinnie, though Vinnie usually moaned about it.
