Diary Of An Awkward Teen

This is my entry for the year-round diary competition. This is a time I don't want to forget, as high-school begins in a middle school building and adulthood is less than four years away. Besides most of the names, this is all 100 percent true.

1. Prologue

High school has begun.

Middle school is over. It has been a hard but fun experience. 9th grade continues in a middle school building, but it is what it is.

To say the least, besides my hair I'm pretty typical in appearance--hazel eyes, medium-sized mouth, average facial features and proportions, 5 3/4 feet, 150 pounds.

My personality is what differs. I have high-functioning autism, and it is unknown whether it was caused by a vaccine or if I was born with it. At first I felt trapped by it, but I'm used to it now. There are people I know who have it far worse, mostly referring to people who still work on a kindergarten level and will never learn to drive. Albeit I know what my talents are--drawing, writing, singing, even yo mama jokes.

My name is Devyn.

This is my story.
