"Maria, can you please come answer the question?"
"Sure!" I chirp cheerfully as I roll my way to the front of the classroom. For once, the medicine seems to be working. I hardly feel any twitches in my hips, and-
"Maria, are you going to answer the question?"
The teacher's voice cuts into my thoughts.
"Of course." I respond. I reach out for marker-
My arm twitches.
Gritting my teeth, I reach for the marker, writing numbly. I don't even look at my writing. I know it's messy, but I don't care. All I can feel is my arm twitching.
"I'm sorry, but that's not correct. Please sit do- go back to your seat." He catches himself.
"Um, actually?" My voice wavers. "I don't feel so good. Could I go... to the nurses office?"
"Of course, Maria." He nods.
I leave the classroom, shaking from head to toe.
