I woke up next to Luke and it didn't feel strange, it actually felt kind of normal. Like he is meant to be here and I am meant to be here with him. I didn't think he would stay the whole night. I figured he would wait till I have fallen asleep then left my drunken state.
"Serena." he mumbled.
"Hey Luke." I smiled looking over towards him.
"I swear if you ever do that to me again.." He shakes his head "How do you feel?"
"Fine. Kind of light-headed." Shame, Luke. I feel shame.
"Why did you call me Serena? Out of all people, why me?" He started moving to sit with his feet on the floor next to my bed.
"I can count on you Luke. I didn't really have anyone else I could call. I'm sorry it was a dumb thing for me to do. I know that." I sat next to him in the same position.
He pulled me into him keeping one hand at his side and resting the other on my shoulder. We sat quietly for the next few minutes. "I should get home to change and shower."
I nodded as he removed his arm from me. "But I'll be back later. I promise."
"Okay." I smiled.
After Luke walked out the front door I walked toward my bathroom. I threw up a little bit of the alcohol I had consumed the night before jumping into the shower. I brushed my teeth three times and changed into comfortable clothing, I was definitely not doing anything today.
Luke showed up shortly after as promised. We both decided on different genres of movies.
In between the second movie I broke the silence.
"Luke." I whispered.
"The first time I took you to one of my friends parties.. You. Uhm. You and the brunette.. I just want to know why?" I stumbled over my words which gave away how nervous I was to even bring the subject up.
"Why was I with her?"
"Well.. I guess I could blame the alcohol but that's kind of a pathetic excuse. So I'm just going to be honest with you and then we won't talk about it anymore. Okay?"
I nodded once again.
"I couldn't stop thinking about you Serena. You looked incredible and you danced incredible, you were so outgoing and I was jealous. I was jealous of the fact that almost everyone in that room was looking at you and I couldn't claim you or tell them that you were mine." He stopped talking and looked back towards the movie.
His eyes stayed planted on the screen and mine stayed planted on him. He can't just tell me that then not even look at me.
"Don't you know that's what I wanted?" I got a rush of adrenaline and grabbed onto Luke turning him towards me. We looked into each others eyes for what seemed like years before our lips connected.
The kiss didn't last long but that didn't make it any less amazing. I felt the cheesy fireworks and I know Luke did as well.
We both smiled as we rested our foreheads against each other.
"I should have kissed you awhile ago." He laughed and so did I.
We laid together and finished the movie we had started before hand.
"Does this mean you'll go on an actual date with me Serena?" He asked.
"Of course it does."
