The motel hadn't changed much, except for a new, darker, stain to the parking lot that the rain has yet to wash away. Sam shuddered at the thought of what had happened that night.
"I ought to take some fighting classes..." Sam said to himself in the parking lot of the motel. He didn't want to take lessons in this town because he felt like he had already bothered the town enough, so he decided that after he went to Izzy's house, he would leave the state for a while to get some training done. Plus, he needed an excuse to get away so that he didn't leave with Izzy mad at him. Sam made the decision that he will go to Izzy's house, and then leave within the next day or two.
After Sam got a room, he took a really long shower, and then crashed for a while. Sam woke up feeling groggy but refreshed. He did what he needed to in the bathroom, and then he changed his bandages and took his medication for his wound. Which Sam thought was healing a lot slower than any injury he has ever had before.
Sam arrived at Izzy's apartment, and he was a little surprised. It was not too small and not too big. He thought that it was just perfect for Izzy. Sam went to Izzy's door and knocked. After knocking a couple of times, she finally answered.
"Are you okay? You took a while to answer the door..." Sam asked curiously. All the while, Sam was staring at Izzy like she was the most beautiful thing ever, even though she was wearing basketball shorts and a tank top.
"I had to put some clothes on... I was in the shower. Anyway, why are you staring at me like I am completely nude?" Izzy asked Sam after she caught him staring at her intently.
"Um... I-I uh... I was just wondering why you were wearing boys basketball shorts." Sam said as a cover up. He thought that Izzy is the most beautiful girl in the world, but he doubted that she even liked him at all so he just kept that comment to himself.
"I am wearing basketball shorts for two reasons. One is that they are comfortable to wear, and the second is that I had to throw something on really fast because there was someone at the door..." Izzy said sassily.
"That makes a lot of sense."
"Anyway, come on in."
"Thanks for inviting me over," Sam says gratefully. "I don't really know anyone in this town, and I didn't have anything to do."
"No problem. Besides, I feel like it is about time you start getting out more to meet new people. Since you're going to be staying here a while."
"Um... okay," Sam says a little too quickly.
"Is everything okay?" Izzy asks, concerned while stepping aside to let Sam into her apartment.
