We arrived at the club, Luke parking on the street outside before we completely stopped and he opened my door, taking my hand and guiding me out. I kept thinking to myself that maybe there was more to Luke then what me and the girls had discussed in Starbucks. No. This guy is bad news, I reminded myself. I suddenly snapped out of my thoughts when I felt his warm touch around my waist as he walked me to the entrance. There was a well built security guard on the door and I was surprised when we walked straight up to him rather than queuing with the rest of the people waiting to get in.
“Alright Luke.” The guard greeted him with a deep voice and smiled down at me, moving the rope from the entrance and letting us through. Several huffs of annoyance were heard as the people waiting disapproved of our privileged access.
Luke still had his arm around my waist as he led me into the lively club and across the dance floor. We struggled to push through the rioting crowds of drunken people and soon enough I didn’t feel him anymore. I spun around in search for him, a little worried and disorientated when my eyes couldn't find him. As I carried on dodging the crowd my eyes still searched for him until I felt a grip on my wrist pull me backwards. Phew, Luke.
"Hey sexy." A dark haired greasy looking guy held me close to his sweaty body stinking of alcohol. I struggled from his grip as he started roaming his hands around my body.
"OI!" Suddenly I heard a familiar voice bellow through the music and before I knew it the man had released his grip and had eyes filled with fear. Luke looked down at me his eyes reassuring me that everything was ok now as he pushed me behind him and approached the guy. As he did other people on the dance floor began to back away, they knew what was going to happen and unfortunately so did I. But, I couldn't just stand there and let it happen.
"Luke." I raised spoke and gently placed my hand on the side of his tensed arm. He turned to look at me. This time his eyes full of darkness, his brows brought together and his jaw tense.
"It doesn't matter, I'm ok. Come on." I tugged at his arm and he quickly turned to face the guy again. He paced closer to him until the quivering guy had backed into a wall. Luke then gripped him by his collar. Oh crap.
"Luke." I raised my voice again, gripping the back of his shirt. By this point we had attracted the attention of nearly everyone in the club. The DJ had even turned the music down slightly and everyone including the security guards just stood watching...They all knew there was nothing they could do to stop him. He raised his arm with tensed muscles bringing it towards the guys face. Everyone was waiting for it to make contact and for blood to be prised from his skin and anger to flood from Luke. But relief took over the room when he didn't hit him. He turned the direction of his punch towards the wall banging his fist into it millimetres from the guys face.
"You stay away from her. You hear me." The terrified guy nodded.
"Keep your filthy hands to yourself." Then Luke dropped him, turned and made his way over to me placing his arm firmly back around my waist.
He then continued to lead me across the dance floor to where we were headed to begin with and I looked up at him. His jaw was still clenched and his eyes were still dark. I could feel the stiffness of his arm around me. He seemed to have really struggled not to punch that guy. His anger still raged inside of him and it worried me. I smiled at him when he looked down at me. I then stopped him walking and pulled him down to my height and whispered into his ear,
"Thank you." Then placed a small kiss on the edge of his cheek hoping it would calm him.
