“Fifty licks west you have arrived

Go then up further still if you have the will.

“So he’s telling us to climb Rob said his father.

“It must be a tough climb; if he’s saying we need the will to go on added James.”

Climb fourth to a mountain next to a hill.

They looked at the map again.

“You old dog Grandfather whispered Rob.”

“Look said Rob it’s not go forth, he spelt it wrong on purpose it’s the fourth mountain next to the hill; Woolbernup hill.”

He pointed to the hill then counted along to the forth mountain.

“Rob you are a genius said Eleanor.”

“Come on then guys what are we waiting for; let’s get down from here and get on our way.”

It was getting on for five thirty when then finally came down off the mountain.

“How far is it to Mount Barren Da’ asked James?”

It’s about forty miles from here.

They started the truck after getting in with their gear; it was starting to get dark but they carried on.

They had gone about thirty miles when Becky noticed a truck behind them about 500 yards.

“Do you think we are being followed?

“We cannot take chances when we get to Mount Barren I will load the rifles.

They carried on going west but kept a vigilant eye on the truck behind them who had made no attempt to over take them even though Robert had slowed the truck down. The truck came up next to them and tried to force them off the road.

When they reached the turn off to the national park where Mount Barren was located the truck that had followed them went past then carried on ahead.

“Joy riders said Robert

“Maybe they weren’t following us said Becky.”

“Never the less keep your eyes open just in case.”

Robert reached a place where they could pitch their tents. The two lads set about making a campfire then placed the Billy can on the metal spikes that ha to V shaped prongs at the other end that were placed on either side of the fire then a metal rod rested onto the V shaped spikes the Billy had a hook in the middle of the handle that could be fixed to the rod and suspended on the fire.

They were drinking coffee so Becky and Eleanor spooned Nescafe into the metal mugs then set about making something to eat for their supper.
