“Thanks for giving us an all-day Korean lesson yesterday,” I smile as the three of us step into a Korean clothing store.
“It was my pleasure,” Nari smiles. “You two still have a lot to learn.”
“Uineun algoissda,” Emily smiles. “That’s we know, right?”
“It was. Good job.”
“How come we are getting clothes?” I ask as Nari leads the way to the teen section. “We have clothes. We might even have too many clothes.”
“Not these kind of clothes,” Nari starts hanging us shirts and shorts as we walk through the store. “Korea has a style, as does America.”
“We look too American?” I question.
“I mean, you always look American no matter what. I just think you should try the Korean fashion.”
“Everything is so bright and colorful,” Emily comments.
I look over all the clothes in my arms. “They are. I like most of what is in my arms right now.”
“Well, that’s good,” Nari stops and turns to face us.
Emily and I stumble a bit at the sudden stop.
“Warning next time please,” I giggle.
“Sorry,” Nari looks at the pile of clothes in the arms of Emily and me. “I think you two should try those clothes on. Figure out what you really like.”
“When do you go back to work?” Emily asks out of the blue.
“Three days,” Nari turns back around and begins walking.
Emily and I glance at each other before following my cousin.
“Do you have anything planned for those days?” I speak up.
“Just relaxing and teaching you more Korean.”
“That sounds like two perfect things to do.”
“You girls can also do whatever makes you happy. I know you play video games. Amber, you draw, correct?”
“Emily, I do not know you well enough, but I am sure you have wonderful hobbies.”
Emily giggles, “I don’t know if wonderful is the right word to describe them.”
“Sure it is. Everything is wonderful in the right light.”
“Are you quoting something?” I adjust the clothes in my arms.
“I don’t think I am.”
“No matter, it sounded nice.”
“Here you go girls,” Nari opens a dressing room door and ushers Emily and myself inside. “I’ll be right outside, so if you want my opinion just walk out.”
“Thanks Nari,” I smile and step inside the dressing room. “Just one room?”
“It’s easier this way.”
“We are the best of friends, Amber,” Emily steps in beside me.
“Yeah, we are,” I smile.
I am so sorry that this chapter is short. After a couple week hiatus, I know you probably want more, but this is all I could will myself to write. I have motivation to do so little right now. I promise I'll try to get another chapter out on Thursday. Hope you liked this! :)
