Traveling Abroad: Summer Love

Amber could've picked any place in the world to spend her summer vacation. Paris, Rio, London. But no, she picked Seoul, South Korea. Traveling there with her best friend, Emily, and staying with Amber's cousin, Nari. It's meant to be a time to relax and do whatever they want. What happens when they run into some guys who want to be friends and steal their time?

11. Rice and Noodles

“You got a lot done today,” Nari smiles as I serve her a bowl of noodles and rice. “And you made us dinner. Thank you girls so much.”

“It’s the easiest thing we can do to repay you now,” Emily says.

“I wouldn’t call it easy,” I sit down and pick up my chopsticks. “Simple noodles and rice proved to be the extent of our cooking knowledge.”

“That’s fine, girls. It smells lovely,” Nari splashes her bowl of food with some soy sauce. “You two don’t need to repay me, though. I wanted you to come over.”

“You do so much for us, Nari. We aren’t going to just stand by without giving thanks.”

“Let us do this one little thing for you,” Emily adds in.

Nari takes a bite or her rice and noodles. “Oh, wow.”

“Crap, is it bad?” Emily grimaces and mixes her bowls contents together.

“No, no,” Nari shoves more of the food we made into her mouth.

“Is it really that good?” I carefully scoop some rice and noodles up with my chopsticks.

“Only one way to find out,” Emily holds up her filled fork.

I nod at Emily, and then we shove the food into our mouths. The taste is one that can’t be matched.

“We made this,” Emily smiles in sheer satisfaction. “This is amazing.”

“I can’t believe it,” I stuff more into my mouth.

“You two are better cooks than you think,” Nari takes a sip of her water. “Even if this meal is just simple noodles and rice. Somehow you made it taste amazing.”

“This may even top the omelets we made this morning,” Emily says.

“Those were so good,” I lean back and lick my lips. “I would call it a tie. That means out French toast needs a little work,” I chuckle.

“I guess so,” Emily laughs along with me.

“Can you two make me a sack lunch tomorrow morning?” Nari asks. “That’s how I’d like you to repay me.”

“We’ll do it,” Emily and I nod.

“Gah, that unison talking is so odd,” Nari tenderly smiles. “But it’s growing on me.”

I promise that the next chapter is going to be the longest one yet. It is going to be packed with talking, and it is finally going to get interesting. Well, more interesting than it is already! :D Hope you liked this! :)
